Answer well and get 4 POB 100% upvote. I will grade the answers based on your explanation. A higher upvote will be given to logical or humorous explanations. If I really like your answer then I will give a bonus of pizza or beer token or another gift.
Here's the question:
- Read the story and chose the best possible answer.
- Give an explanation why you believe your answer to be the best possible answer.
- Show proof of work.
There is a teenage boy who runs to school every morning in a small country town in Kansas. Outside the town runs a railway track and along side of the track is a road where the boy runs. The road runs exactly parallel to the railway track until it takes a bend and crosses over the track at a level crossing.
Each morning the boy leaves for school at the same time and runs at a constant 12 miles per hour. Each morning he almost always sees the train traveling the same direction at the crossing.
One day the boy was running 20 minutes late. When he got to the crossing he didn't see the train there. He kept running until he met the train 6 miles ahead of the crossing. Can you figure out the speed of the train?
Provide Your Answer
A. All of the above.
B. None of the above.
C. Both A and B.
D. Both C and D.
E. Neither A nor B.
Please write a comment explaining why you chose that answer.
Tricky question :) so won't take a chance but looks like if it was the speed of a turtle.

.Since we're looking for speed and we have two values, the time and the distance, I used the formula
S=d/t
The time is in minutes and so I converted it to seconds.
20minutes= 20×60
= 1200.
The distance is In miles and has to be converted to.
1mile = 1609.344m
Therefore, 6miles= 6× 1609.344
6miles= 9656.06m.
Back to the formula
S=d/t
S= 9656.06m/ 1200s
S= 8.046m/s
Pheew.. energy expended 😅
This is great. The answer is good. There are many ways to answer this. Actually you don't need conversion because it's in miles per hour.
I am on my cell phone and had trouble with the upvote percentage. I will find another one of your posts and upvote it also as a special gift for proof of work. !BEER

Oh my! Are you a mathematician? This is like magic to me, I know almost nothing about all this but I'm here to learn 😃
Well, you can say that. LoL. Anyways, happy learning
Yeah, thanks and happy teaching 😃
I think we can't determine the speed of the train, so there are too many unknowns - we don't know what was happening to the train during those 20 minutes, what direction it was moving in, whether it stopped on the way, etc. So I don't have an exact answer)..
Thanks @alekst7... This is a good answer. Actually the boy was traveling a constant speed of 12 miles per hour but that doesn't matter. You could still choose a correct answer without even that information.
Can't be Determined. We need speed of the boy first, then we will find relative speed of both boy and train. In this case, both running in same direction, so Relative speed = Speed Train - Speed Boy
St-Sb = D/T
St-Sb = 6×60/20 = 18 miles/hr
You are right @vikbuddy. I meant to add the boy's speed at 12 miles per hour but even without that you can deduce an answer.
!PIZZA
St-Sb = 18 M/Hr
St-12=18
St= 30 Miles/Hr is it right? Lol
Anyway I didn’t get the point bro, why is the boy running after the train, lol 🏃♂️🏃♂️🚉😂. !PIZZA

Yep, I will go with Answer 'C' - Both A and B.
Because something correct gonna be there above or vice versa. It's C.
Proof of work, 'C' for Chill, that's your favourite, so it's definitely got to be C. 😁🤗. Also keep drinking water. 💦🍻🤗🙏
That's a guess Vik. Think it through logically. You are very close.
OK, Its 'E' Neither A nor B. I don't find speed of train neither above nor below. 😏

That was the bus I was supposed to be on. It is really hot today. Be careful and drink water.
😂 I'm laughing at myself seriously, I'm not so smart in calculation so I will have to let this one pass me by but I'm not going far away.
I'll stick around to see and learn from amazing brains in the community who I know would give a good answer to your question.
And I'll say the train was too fast that I couldn't figure out the speed 😂 that's my answer. Proof of work? I've been on a train before 😃

Was it going four miles an hour?
I was never good at these, lol
There wasn't enough information... No one can really solve it.
You could guess the train went 6 miles in 20 minutes... Then that's two miles per hour.
