Going to sleep, will expand my reply tomorrow.
Your case has nothing to do with the post you referenced. That post explained why some users got random downvotes (because a farmer started casting his counteracted upvotes on random posts to create chaos).
I only said I would add you to the script in that post so you would get healing upvotes.
If you think it should not be automated feel free to do it manually. I don’t have all that time (hours every day) so I rely on automation.
Your post got flagged only because its text contained the scam link. When hundreds of phishing/scam comments get quickly spread across blogs that’s effective against them. Yours was flagged in error and I asked others to heal it. You can also use @freezepeach by the way asking them to heal downvotes on their discord.
My bots also upvote everything they upvote to heal.
And sure, my code can be improved. It just requires time to do so. I do not receive funding through a proposal or running a witness node so I do that in my (little) free time.
Thank you for your comment. As I explained in the publication, I do not intend to argue with you or question your work in the sense that what you do is wrong. It is very commendable all the dedication you put into this task and if, as you say, you do it without receiving funding, it is even more praiseworthy. In fact, I always thought that you were at least managing a node.
As for automation, certainly, fighting spaming is more difficult when the volume of information increases. I think that this action is more noticeable in the comments than in the publications themselves. It occurs to me, perhaps receive a notification if a dangerous link is detected in a post, to evaluate it and then decide and automatic flagging if it is detected in the comments and replies.
I reiterate my intention: I wish that this is better, that we can have a Blockchain attached to the values that we proclaim of union and support among all of us who live here. And that what can be improved, is done for the good of all. Greetings
Understood, thanks.
Yes that could work but it’s still not a complete solution. I think it would be better off looking for some key words in the post to avoid flagging (eg. “scam” “dangerous” “steal” etc).
Some of these attackers have hundreds of stolen accounts in their hands so they could easily spam posts into popular communities in an automated way. Manually chasing all their activity would be too slow to be effective.
Regarding the comments I accidentally hit other people that mentioned a phishing link as dangerous in their comment. In that case the flag trail does not get triggered though so there’s less damage.
Will add the key word solution when I have a chance (even though it may be abused simply hiding those key words in hidden text of the post/comment).. 🤔
