SpaceX competition took off.
SpaceX competition took off.
The Starliner spacecraft has been in the news this week, due to the unmanned test carried out by this ship that you are going to see above, being launched to the international space station on Saturday, May 21, carrying about 360 kilos of cargo and as the only astronaut on board There was a test dummy named “Rosie the Rocketeer” who rode in the captain's chair.
It was not a simple doll, it was a real team, it was a sensor team with 15 sensors to collect data on what real astronauts experience during future Starliner flights, it is essential for the next tests since it will be with a human crew indoors.

This Ship has had a lot of problems, but apparently in the end it has overcome all the difficulties, it had a first test flight in 2019 and failed to reach the international space station, the Boeing company that has been working all these years to solve the technical issues, because this particular ship is going to be the big competition to SpaceX's manned dragon ships that were developed much faster and much more efficiently, SpaceX has flown five crews of astronauts to the international space station.

This launch on May 19 indicates that the Boeing company will also become a space company, if all goes well and as planned, the Starliner could transport 7 crew members or astronauts to the international space station by the end of 2022.

this is not the competition for SpaceX. It's the backup ship when SpaceX decides to move onto other things, beyond delivering cargo to the ISS.
I say this because they are two different companies; and they all want to win the tenders that SpaceX has won, it would be great if they collaborate with each other, only the future will tell what their relationships will be like.
definitely collaboration is key for development. it's funny thought, that SpaceX is so far ahead, that for there to be collaboration, SpaceX has to give the "competition" help, like i think they might have helped other companies develop their own technologies by sharing information, like Elon did with Tesla.
