In the most polluting means of transport.

The climate crisis has left the terrain of forecasting and is now manifesting itself in increasingly extreme ways, evident in places that until recently had the luxury of ignoring the warnings.

When the level of the most important rivers in Europe decreases to the point where the so-called "hunger rocks" are exposed with medieval inscriptions that say "when you see me cry" alluding to the hunger suffered by the people who wrote that because of the drought, which last discovered that rock hundreds of years ago.

Well, people tend to start taking the climate crisis more seriously, partly also because now the developed countries that have to be in cooler places on the planet are experiencing it first-hand.

Transportation is the basis of our economy, fuels, food, raw materials, consumer goods and people are transported; All this mobility is based mainly on fossil fuels and represents 22 percent of our total CO2 emissions. In this sector, automotive transport represents 74 percent and air and sea transport are tied with 11 percent.

Each means of transport satisfies specific needs and it can be said that all are necessary, but there is one means of transport that can be said to be objectively more polluting than the others: air.

With a route that can be done by all land and air means, such as the 350 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, we can make a comparison based on a single passenger.

means CO2
Train 0,75 kg
Autobus 10 kg
Híbrido 10 kg
Car 17,5 kg
Airplane 34 kg
Private jet 509 Kg

Going by plane takes 30 minutes to get there, instead of the 6 hours it takes you by train, but you pollute 48 times more, this already sounds scandalous, but if we put private jets in the comparison I will blow their wigs, that same journey in a Cessna Citation XLS, which is one of the 10 most abundant private jets, it would generate 509 kilograms of CO2 per passenger, this considering that the nine seats are occupied, although people who like to use private jets usually do not like to fill them, they need their space staff because if they don't get hives.

In other words, half a ton of CO2 would be an optimistic figure, even if we keep that optimistic figure, a single person in a private jet emits the same CO2 as 727 people making the same trip by train, it is simply scandalous, it makes you think like the train, a means of transport invented more than 200 years ago is still the best option and here I am looking at a train powered by petroleum fuels, if they were electric, powered by a sustainable network as is the case in some places in Europe, co2 emissions are practically zero , so you know, more trains less planes.
