The countries with the fewest showers are China, Japan and the United Kingdom with a little more than five times a week, Mexico reaches almost eight showers a week, but it is the undisputed leader in hair washing, which seems super strange to me. There may be in the Mexican culture that makes them use shampoo much more than other countries and obviously those that bathe the most are the countries that are close to Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil where the heat and humidity make multiple baths a day essential, in Brazil it is even customary to offer a bathroom to whoever visits your house as a courtesy.

But how many times do you have to bathe, the answer is much less, of course it depends on many things, if your activities make you sweat a lot obviously you need to bathe much more frequently than a person who is having a calm time, but if the smell allows it, it is It's a good idea to bathe less because when you soap you not only get rid of possible pathogens but also good bacteria that are part of the health of our skin.


Washing yourself too often and especially scrubbing with soap could cause skin problems precisely due to the lack of those bacteria that should be there. In fact, pediatricians recommend not bathing children daily because these bacteria help strengthen the immune response of the child. your skin.


The skin is an organ that covers us completely, it has many important functions such as regulating our temperature, but its main objective is to protect our body from the outside, the oil that our skin produces is necessary to keep it hydrated and in good condition, wash it frequently. It often dries it out and when that happens it becomes irritated and cracked, making it more likely that pathogens can penetrate our skin.

So more cleanliness does not necessarily mean healthier, but I clarify this does not mean that you should stop bathing, the accumulation of fat due to lack of bathing can also cause infections and folliculitis apart from the social repercussions.


Bathing not too much, not too little, between three and five times a week is fine, if you exercise a lot or the weather forces you to bathe more frequently, what dermatologists recommend is just soaping the little corners, you know which ones smell the most. Of course, that is also where the criterion comes in, if you do activities where you are really getting very dirty, then there is soap in all the dirty parts.
