A New Armored Dinosaur.

Being a paleontologist is a job that can be very hard, finding treasures from the past that the earth saves sometimes means having to travel to inhospitable places, suffer many problems, inclement weather and be moving large amounts of material and stones.

In this situation, in February 2018, a team of long-suffering paleontologists with a fractured member and a broken member were found in the hill of the Chinas River Valley, near the Torres del Paine National Park, there they found a block of rock that kept fossil bones.

Despite the difficulties, the team members managed to extract the block by bringing to light the remains of an animal that lived 74 million years ago practically found all the bones, the rear area was intact and fully articulated, including its very strange tail.

It was a new type of armored dinosaur of about two meters in length that was given the name of Stegourus elengassen, Stegourus translates as roofed tail while the hitch is the name of a mythical armored monster in the tradition of the native people local.

The tail was what attracted the most attention of the research team since it did not resemble that of any dinosaur known to date, in its posterior half it had seven pairs of thermal bones projected laterally which gave it an appearance similar to a frond of the fact or the feared war club used by the ancient Aztecs, In addition this new species could be an evolutionary link between the ankylosaurus and other older lineages of armored dinosaurs.
