Using A.I. to Generate Video Content

This is really interesting! I am a little ashamed that this possibility hadn't occured to me until I saw the YouTube video below about starting a "faceless" YouTube channel using artificial intelligence tools.

I recently made some posts about how ChatGPT can be used for entertainment. My posts about ChatGPT being a streaming series showrunner, continuing a TV series that ended with an unresolved cliffhanger, and even generating stories using ChatGPT.

I've tried generating stories using artificial intelligence. For me ChatGPT isn't great with quality. If you just want a story then ChatGPT can quickly generate one with a prompt describing the premise. For my taste of fiction any ChatGPT generated story needs to be refined through iteration. I am working on a second chapter of the Slothman series I've started. For Slothman chapter one I wrote the original draft and I used ChatGPT as a writing tool to correct grammar and punctuation. I also ask ChatGPT for suggestions to improve my story. Some of the suggestions I incorporated while ignoring other suggestions that didn't seem apt.

The natural sounding a.i. voices are a nice touch. The video below used Resemble.ai and the basic plan is $0.006 per second so creating the "voice talent" for each faceless YouTube video is going to cost several dollars. Not a great deal since new YouTube channels can't apply to get ad revenue until the channel has at least one thousand subscribers and four thousand watch hours in the past year. To be honest though most new YouTube channels have sloppy production starting off that (hopefully) improves over time. I think as long as the story quality is good a new channel can use a reasonably sounding open source text-to-speech voice. Once the ad revenue comes in then the profit can be invested into a.i. voices that sound natural.

It doesn't have to be just for YouTube of course. For example, 3Speak is a decentralized video hosting platform built on the Hive blockchain....Hmmmm...

Who knows? Maybe that ChatGPT as a showrunner for an SCP Foundation series isn't that crazy of an idea after all.
