Desde hace varios días hemos venido estudiando las Competencias Digitales. Conocer todo ese contenido ha sido muy positivo, pero seguro dirás ¿Y ahora qué hago? ¿Cómo pongo en práctica esto que he aprendido? ¿Por dónde comienzo?

Eso fue precisamente lo mismo que me ocurrió a mí cuando entendí que necesitaba desarrollar mis competencias digitales. Entre tanta información es normal sentirse abrumado. Por eso hoy te traigo 5 tips para que incorpores la tecnología a tu vida de forma progresiva y sin frustraciones:

For several days we have been studying Digital Competences. Knowing all that content has been very positive but you will surely say, Now what do I do? How do I put into practice what I have learned? Where do I start?
That was precisely the same thing that happened to me when I understood that I needed to develop digital skills. With so much information, it is normal to feel overwhelmed. That's why today I bring you 5 tips for you to incorporate technology into your life progressively and without frustration:

1.- IDENTIFICA TUS PUNTOS FUERTES

Si queremos utilizar la tecnología en nuestro día a día, especialmente en el trabajo o el estudio, lo primero es la formación. Pero antes de comenzar a inscribirte en cuanto curso salga por ahí, a buscar información en forma desmedida y a descargar programas y aplicaciones por doquier, evalúa en qué áreas puedes desenvolverte mejor.

Piensa qué se te hace más fácil ¿Trabajar en tu computadora o en tu móvil? ¿A qué área del conocimiento te dedicas? ¿Eres docente, abogado, médico, estudiante…? ¿En qué momentos del día te concentras más? ¿Te resulta estudiar de día o de noche? ¿Puedes estudiar independientemente o necesitas a alguien que te guíe? ¿Tienes la posibilidad de invertir en tu formación o aprovecharás las capacitaciones gratuitas? ¿Con cuál recurso aprendes mejor: texto, audio o video?

Todas estas preguntas te ayudarán a definir la ruta a seguir para que comiences a familiarizarte con las diferentes herramientas digitales disponibles. Escoge aquellas con las que te sientas más cómodo y comienza siempre desde lo más sencillo hasta lo más complejo.

Recuerda, la tecnología se actualiza muy rápido, pero no te desesperes, avanza a tu ritmo y te irá mejor.

1.- IDENTIFY YOUR STRENGTHS
If we want to use technology in our day to day, especially at work or study, the first thing is training. But before you start enrolling as soon as the course is out there, to search for information in an excessive way and to download programs and applications everywhere, evaluate in which areas you can perform better.
Think what is easier for you? Work on your computer or on your mobile? What area of knowledge do you do? Are you a teacher, lawyer, doctor, student ...? What times of the day do you concentrate the most? Do you find it to study day or night? Can you study independently or do you need someone to guide you? Do you have the possibility to invest in your training or will you take advantage of the free trainings? With which resource do you learn better: text, audio or video?
All these questions will help you define the route to follow so that you begin to familiarize yourself with the different digital tools available. Choose those with which you feel most comfortable and always start from the simplest to the most complex.
Remember, technology updates very quickly, but do not despair, advance at your own pace and you will do better.

2.- CONOCE BIEN LOS EQUIPOS CON LOS QUE CUENTAS

Parece mentira, pero muchas personas no conocen bien sus equipos. A veces tienen el dispositivo móvil más novedoso y solo lo utilizan para llamar y recibir mensajes.

Ya sea que cuentes con una computadora de escritorio, una laptop, tablet, celular o todos estos equipos juntos, es necesario que sepas lo que puedes hacer con ellos. Investiga qué sistema operativo tienen, su capacidad de almacenamiento, la rapidez de procesamiento, con qué aplicaciones y/o programas son compatibles y cuáles funcionan mejor. Esto es importante porque sabrás hasta dónde puedes llegar con el uso de la tecnología.

Aunque no lo creas, conocer muy bien tus equipos te ayudará a sacarles más provecho y a seleccionar las aplicaciones apropiadas. También te ahorrará frustraciones cuando no te responda ante alguna demanda de trabajo que tengas. ¿Conoces todas las especificaciones y capacidad de tus equipos?

2.- KNOW WELL THE TEAMS YOU HAVE
It seems incredible, but many people do not know their equipment well. Sometimes they have the newest mobile device and only use it to call and receive messages.
Whether you have a desktop computer, a laptop, tablet, cell phone or all of these devices together, you need to know what you can do with them. Find out what operating system they have, their storage capacity, processing speed, which applications and / or programs are compatible with and which ones work best. This is important because you will know how far you can go with the use of technology.
Believe it or not, knowing your equipment very well will help you get more out of it and select the appropriate applications. It will also save you frustration when it does not respond to a job demand that you have. Do you know all the specifications and capacity of your equipment?

3.- AVANZA DE MENOS A MÁS

Como te decía en líneas anteriores, comienza siempre desde lo más sencillo hasta lo más complejo. Hay aplicaciones que te pueden resultar difíciles si no estás acostumbrado a utilizarlas, sobre todo aquellas que están en un idioma distinto al que hablas.

Te recomiendo que explores bien y cuando encuentres algún programa o aplicación que te resulte difícil de comprender, déjala por un breve tiempo, prueba con otra que sea más intuitiva y luego retómala.

Trabaja con programas o aplicaciones que estén en tu mismo idioma y luego atrévete a probar con otras que estén en inglés u otro lenguaje, de esta manera también aprenderás nuevos términos y ampliarás tu comprensión del mismo.

Cabe mencionar que algunas herramientas digitales tienen versión de escritorio, web y para dispositivos móviles, pruébalas todas, así las dominarás mejor.

3.- ADVANCE FROM LESS TO MORE
As I said in previous lines, always start from the simplest to the most complex. There are applications that can be difficult for you if you are not used to using them, especially those that are in a language other than the one you speak.
I recommend that you explore well and when you find a program or application that is difficult to understand, leave it for a short time, try another that is more intuitive and then go back to it.
Work with programs or applications that are in your same language and then dare to try others that are in English or another language, in this way you will also learn new terms and expand your understanding of it.
It is worth mentioning that some digital tools have a desktop, web and mobile version, try them all, so you will master them better.
