If You Can't Go Outside, Then Go Inside!

We can all agree that 2020 will be an unforgettable part of modern history. Some people even say that it is a turning point in our history as a whole. The Pandemic not only revealed our blind spots and fragile systems but it also sped up evolution. Of course, this is perceived as bad especially in the short term because nobody was prepared for it. Imagine telling a toddler to run when he/she can't even barely walk properly.

Internalization is the process of withdrawing from external reality and focusing on one's internal reality. This doesn't necessarily mean abandoning external reality like some people are led to believe but merely a less association with it. One way of looking at it is that we're not participants of external reality, we're just spectators.

Remember the famous quote about one not being able to change the world but only changing oneself and by example hope the rest follow? I believe the essence of the statement is true. However, everything is relative because with sufficient willpower, anyone can change the world.

What's Inside?

Well, the short answer is everything and nothing. It just depends on where you're looking from!
I came across the statement on the title of this post at the onset of the Pandemic on a spiritual group on Facebook. They were illustrating how meditation could be a great help in navigating through those uncertain times. For me, the key takeaway about it was that we're inherently internal beings but because of our dualistic nature we have to learn to live in both realities at the same time.

The reality is that humanity is still not yet able to do that and one always have to give way to the other. A good way of looking at it is day and night existing at the same time. Isn't that technically impossible? Day will have to give way to night and vice versa, they just can't exist simultaneously.

Since the Pandemic, we've been on a straight course towards internalization. If you've a healthy interest for technology then you probably have came across an idea for curing physical mortality or death. The idea is to make these super computers that can host human consciousness. That way, one will be able to transfer one's consciousness to these smart computers and live in them long after their carbon biped body is dead.

I must say that it is ambitious enough and could work well in theory. What I want to highlight about it is that it would be the epitome of internalization. The human body is our link to the external reality. Without it we will be fully internal and the sky is the limit when exploring inside. It will be an interesting journey as long as the computers aren't switched off.

Thanks for reading!!

I'm someone who probably looks at the bigger pictures and the likelihood of events even I cannot control, I know this is bad, but sometimes I mostly focus on the things I cannot control and wish I can be in charge. As per internalization, I think, one's reality matters. However, like you said, not like we would abandon the external aspect, but focusing more on us.

@tipu curate, here's a reward for your efforts.

For me, I try switching between the bigger picture and the small picture. I realize there isn't any fun in only focusing on the small picture.

You summed it quite well for me. Thanks for the reward :)
