DAILY DIARY: WHAT WENT ON TUESDAY || ELEVATOR ENGINEERING INSIDER
Tuesday was a bright day for me. The sun was shining all through Without a single rainfall. My job for today is on maintenance, so I visited two locations with a colleague of mine to perform maintenance services on their elevator.
Both sites were located at Ikeja and took us a while to get to our destination due to traffic. I did the maintenance service of the first location while my partner did for the second.
In the pictures above, the first I was In the shaft of an elevator while using the inspection box (the second picture) to navigate to different floors of the building.
One of the services I did was to remove the sand in the car tracks. As those sands could disturb the smooth movement of the elevator doors.
The one way I was able to open the elevator doors was by disconnecting the power source to the door module which is shown in the picture above.
Some other maintenance services needed to done included:
- Checking the elevator door belts if they are in good condition
- Checking if there is oil on the elevator guide
- Checking the movement of the elevator
- Cleaning the car door tracks
- Test running the elevator in inspection mode.
- Checking and adjusting landing or car doors if correction needed.
There are others done but I just point down this few which is common.
