No man is an highland, we all grow and learn everyday. The day we stop learning, we stop living - starstrings01

I use this opportunity to welcome you to another day of my daily diary. This diary talks about my day to day activities and I'm about to share how it went at work yesterday on Friday.

Note: The elevator serviced is done by efforts of everyone I work with and not by me alone.

Friday was a bright and clear day, we (the whole elevator team) had plans on going straight to Reeve towers at Ikoyi to service their elevators but as we are on the way we received a call that one of the elevator which we serviced yesterday (the one that had a broken elevator shoe guide) had stopped working. Since we were nearby, we decided to go there first.

We met the lift in breakdown at the ground floor of the building. After rushing up to the control panel which was 6 floors away, I decided to check the fault of elevator using a service took.

The picture below is an image of the service tool of an OTIS elevator.

Presently, from the codes shown above which is dz and 1lv means the elevator is not at floor level. That doesn't mean the elevator has a fault but the fault was that a code 1LS was high which shouldn't be so. The only way we could off is was to raise the lift up manually.

To do that, we use what is called a scissors to hold down the brakes of the elevator synchronous motor.

The picture below is the image of an elevator scissors which is used to manually move the elevator up or down when applied on the brakes of the motor of an elevator.

This activity above was done to raise the lift to deactivate the 1LS code. After it was done it went off which made the system begin to work correctly again.

As of why did the fault occur, we aren't sure about what caused the breakdown. We only get to see the fault through the service tool and then repair it but still finding what caused the breakdown.

We stayed back to monitor the operation of the lift if there would be a breakdown but there wasn't after we stayed for 2hrs.

Next, we journey to Reeve towers at Ikoyi. Due to traffic congestion, it took us about 4hrs to get there. The elevator used at Reeve towers is very similar to that of we last did.

One of the issues about their elevator was that the board was faulty which had been worked upon by my boss.

This is Reeve towers below which is a 12 storey residential building for soldiers in my country

This picture above was taken when I arrived at the site location. I must say it is not easy climbing a 12 storey building with an heavy backpack filled with engineering tools. That's why I dislike coming here.

After fixing the board above into the control panel of the elevator, I was glad the board seemed to work perfectly fine and the elevator didn't give us much problems. We left the location 2hrs after fixing and checking the elevator was working properly in good condition.

That's all for now. Today is Saturday, and there is a pending elevator at Oniru lekki to check out. I'm not totally sure if I would go out to check the elevator with my team because I have things to do at home and also want to relax from the busy week and heavy traffic I faced everyday when going back home from work.

I hope to see you again tomorrow. Do have a nice day. Thanks for reading my through. God bless 🙏❣️.
