DAILY DIARY: ELEVATOR OVER TRAVEL || ELEVATOR ENGINEERING INSIDER
Good evening hivers? I am here again with another episode of my work daily diary and I hope you all had a nice day.
The picture above is my boss at the second site we visited for the day. So let us move reverse to the first task of the day.
As we journey to office, there was an emergency call from an hospital that the lift had stopped and they really needed to use the elevator. So we tried all means to escape traffic and arrive early to the hospital.
From the picture above, we have gotten to the hospital and climbing up the ladder to the machine room. we figured the lift over travelled and the only way to solve the issue is to drive the elevator down from the motor.
The picture below is the motor of the lift
In this picture below, which I look smaller in 😂😂, I am winding down the lift down with the roller (the round yellow metal between my hands).
The silver metal in the picture below is called a scissors, it is holding the breaks of the motor. The round like looking metal object below the scissors is called the breaks.
It was easy as pizzy to do, you only need someone to hold down the breaks for you while you move the lift down.
It is nearly impossible to do it alone but I don't how to do it alone though, as it is differs on the type of elevator.
There's one thing I love doing when I go to sites, I love checking out their control panel. This type of elevator is a very old type and the model is not more in production.
The first picture below is the control board of the elevator.
I love elevators that are less sophisticated without too much contactors like this type above. Beside the board above is the drive of the elevator. Most of the parts are hard and expensive to get if they eventually get damaged due to the stop in production.
The next site we visited was at Lagos Ikeja. It is an opay company and I went for a normal routine maintenance which we perform every month.
Below is a picture I took while in the shaft of the elevator.
Don't mind the way I look, it is just as if I forget just to take a picture 😂😂😂.
Check out the call button from inside the elevator shaft below 👇👇👇
This picture below contains the counter weight rail, elevator rail, the limit switches. From my previous posts you should try to identify them
The picture below is the motor above and the elevator governor beside in blue color.
After finishing with the maintenance of the elevator, we decided to head home. So I and Mr. Peter decided to use the opportunity to take some pictures before leaving.
That's all for now, thanks for reading through this diary. Hope you had a nice day.
that amazing good luck
