Logbook of an astronomer chapter 5: today the sky was moderately clean which motivated me to study another constellation, today I bring you a small study on the constellation of GEMINIS, I still observed some clouds that made it difficult for me to photograph the stars but with a little patience I managed to fully capture the entire constellation, so far it has been the largest set of stars that I had to photograph so it takes a bit of work, I invite you to make yourself comfortable and enjoy a post loaded with stars!๐Ÿ”ญ๐Ÿ”ญ

๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿช๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿงญ

EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION AND CALIBRATION๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ/CALIBRACION DE EQUIPO Y ORIENTACION๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“

As is routine, before making any observation in the sky we must orient ourselves and carry out a preliminary study of what we are going to see, this is very important in astronomy because it gives us an idea where we should point the telescope, it is not easy to recognize the constellation in the city due to the high index of light pollution, but with a little effort, luck and knowledge we can reach the goal, my first step is to see what the constellation of GEMENIS looks like, for this I use my program (LICENSED) (Starry Night Celestron 8) as you can see in the photo, this is how Geminis should look in the sky! (I KNOW WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR)๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿช
(YA SE LO QUE BUSCO)๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒŒ

The next step is the most interesting and without a doubt where I have the most fun, locating the constellation in the sky! I always use a shortcut, and there is a program called (SKY MAP) it is free, you can download it and get a constellation in the sky in real time without much difficulty, I am at home so I chose to study GEMINI because it is in sight from my window! after knowing WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR, AND WHERE I AM LOOKING I am ready to calibrate my telescope and camera!๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ”ญ

After recognizing the constellation in the sky, I can adjust my telescope, this telescope is short-range its characteristic: 70mm, so it is possible to see a maximum of Jupiter's moons, it is not suitable for (deep space) but very practical for see stars, then I program my canon camera with the 50mm lens, manual mode and 2sec automatic shooting, it is mandatory to use manual mode and self-timer or the photos are blurred! Also, it is important to remember that the use of the tripod is also very important! NOW THAT WE ARE WATCHING๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ†โœจโœจโœจ

Before describing the main characteristics of GEMINI if you look at it well it is a bit difficult to understand in the photograph but when the stars come together to form the figure it is clearly 2 people holding hands! obviously the constellation is going to change as the hours go by and where you are! If you want to join this hobby then it would help you a lot to buy a long-range laser and yourself to follow the stars to create the figure! once GEMINI is photographed let's understand it a bit!

Geminis is very interesting to study because it was discovered since ancient times, it is very close to ORION in the cardinal point (northwest), it is one of the largest and draws the attention of astronomers because it is not easy to recognize it requires a lot of practice! It is understood that it is one of the most relevant constellations and is located 30 degrees northwest of Orion, it was baptized as a "cosmic hunter" it seems that the stars will connect with each other but in reality they are all very distant to millions of light years๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ”ญ๐Ÿ”ญ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ

Pollux is the brightest star in the constellation, it has a magnitude of 1.16, it is classified as an orange giant, it is nothing more and nothing less than 36 light years from our solar system, Pollux is also the star number 17 that shines the brightest in all. the firmament, in terms of coloration, presents a red-orange together with Castor are the two twin characters of GEMINI!
๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ถ

We go to the second brightest star in Gemini, it is called (beaver), its magnitude is 1.58. If we see the photo, it seems to us a single star, right? but it is not like that, beaver is a system to be bone is composed of several stars 6 in total, we could only see them with a very powerful telescope!
๐Ÿง ๐Ÿง

The constellation of Geminis presents in certain periods stars with very radiant white coloration, to close with a very interesting fact about Geminis is that in it we can find the famous stellar clusters that are interesting to see with a powerful lens since we would see millions of stars very close together ! We also see nebulae in the constellation Gemini!๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
