Brine shrimp are very small organisms that can measure up to 3 millimeters, and in my shop they are highly sought after for feeding fish! these animals can live in brackish or salty waters! I decided to take a sample of a brine shrimp to see it under a microscope and learn a little more about this fantastic aquatic organism!🤔🤩
The brine shrimp that is the species that you can observe under the microscope is an arthropod of the crustacean subphylum known to be branchiopods, they are cosmopolitan living organisms this term means that we can locate them all over the world! When these species lay eggs, they may not hatch for more than 12 years! They are very resistant animals and when the environmental conditions are extreme (without oxygen) they prefer not to go to the next larval stage until the conditions are better!🙂🤩
The biological phenomenon of metabolic activity is known as Cryptobiosis, after the conditions are optimal to survive in just 8 hours the brine shrimp eggs hatch! for many years these organisms have been the object of study! they are believed to have even been bred in laboratories in space to measure different levels of survival and biological adaptation! In schools it is very common to see experiments to measure how brine shrimp survive at different levels of salinity!😎😎

It feeds mainly on phytoplankton, microalgae suspended in the body of water! in aquariums brine shrimp have been used for many years as they are very nutritious, they are given to small fish, they have a high content of fatty acids and some calcium content! what in the long term helps the coloration of our fish and enjoy a good state of health!🤗😮
