BIODIVERSITY BEHAVIOR IN RIO ECOSYSTEM🦩🐦🧠🐝
One of the things that fascinates me the most about my profession is finding new behaviors and behaviors in animals that I have studied for many years, in 2008 I began to study birds and in different countries from Venezuela, Colombia Peru, Chile to several countries in Europe. And I can tell you that although it may seem strange, a species of limicola or beach bird in South America can present a different behavior when compared to one here in Portugal! Today I went out to do birdwatching and noticed something special in waders and herons, and that is that the tide influences their eating behavior!🙂🙂🧠
Una de las cosas que mas me fascinan de mi profesion es encontrarme con nuevas conductas y comportamientos en animales que tengo muchos años estudiando, en el 2008 comence a estudiar las aves y en distintos paises desde Venezuela, Colombia Peru, Chile hasta varios paises de europa y puedo decirte que aunque parezca extraño una especie de limicola o ave de playa en Sur America puede presentar un comportamiento distinto si se compara con una aqui en Portugal! hoy sali a realizar observacion de aves y note algo especial en las aves limicolas y garzas, y es que la marea influye en el comportamiento alimenticio!🌏🧭👨🏫
TEJO RIVER👨💻👨🎓 / RIO TEJO🙂🦉🐦
This river is important for the biodiversity of Portugal because it basically crosses it horizontally, it is one of the longest rivers in the Iberian peninsula, it comes from Spain crossing large amounts of kilometers and bringing a diversity of animals and plants that serve as the trophic chain of the ecology of Portugal, in my country it becomes a hestuary because it mixes with the ocean and acquires a level of salinity! many bird watchers like "ME" SEE THIS VALUABLE RESOURCE with an important medium for the life cycle of many animals especially birds!🤔😬😮😮😮😮
Este rio es importante para la biodiversidad de Portugal porque basicamente lo atraviesa horizontalmente, es uno de los rios mas largos de la peninsula iberica, viene desde España atravesando grandes cantidades de kilometros y trayendo una diversidad de animales y plantas que sirven como cadena trofica de la ecologia de Portugal, en mi pais pasa a ser un hestuario porque se mezcla con el oceano y adquiere un nivel de salinidad! muchos observadores de aves como "YO" VEMOS ESTE VALIOSO RECURSO con un importante medio para el ciclo de vida de muchos animales especialmente de aves!😃😃

Como puedes ver en esta foto logre fotografiar una garza comun cuyo nombre cientifico es Egretta garzetta, es muy comun verla en este tipo de ecosistemas, sabes que comportamiento interesante tiene esta ave de porte grande? pues sus patas son especiales y pueden moverse lentamente en el agua y los peces no pueden sentir las vibraciones bajo del agua, por ultimo su excelente vision les permite realizar movimientos muy eficacez capas de atrapar cualquier tipo de pez!🐠🐟🐙🦞🦀

Realizar observaciones de aves es una actividad que vengo realizando a mas de 10 años, y me ayuda a entender mas el comportamiento de cada especie de aves, no tengo mucha practica con la fotografia cuando capturo limicolas (aves playeras) aun no me habituo a las aves de la peninsula iberica, pero hay pequeños detalles que puedo comprender cuando me siento y con mi CANON 400MM veo muchas aves alimentandose en el fango!👨🏫👩🏫👨⚖️

Para entender un poco como es la alimentacion de las aves en este tipo de ecosistemas primero debo realizar un estudio previo de la vegetacion y fauna que crece y vive en el rio tejo! recordemos que un rio tiene una transicion siempre de agua dulce que desemboca en el mar, entonces podremos encontrarnos con un gran repertorio de especies acuaticas adaptadas a estos ambientes, esto inmediatamente nos dice que encontraremos aves que se alimentan de peces, crustaceos por ejemplo garzas, limicolas, y a las orillas del rio podriamos encontrar aves que son insectivoras que se alimentan de las libelulas por ejemplo!💯💯💯✅

Este es una de mis principales observaciones, como puedes ver en las fotos la marea condiciona el comportamiento y alimentacion de las aves playeras, sabiendo que se alimentan en marea baja porque los moluscos y otros artropodos quedan atrapados en pequeños pozos de agua o descubiertos en la arena aqui las aves aprovechan en alimentarse! que sucede con la marea alta?😲😲🤯

Vaya alteracion ocurre cuando la marea crece en el rio, las fotos tomada en el mismo lugar muestra la marea alta, aqui la arena esta casi completa por agua, lo que hace a las aves playeras desplazarse hacia una zona mas baja o sin agua, al contrario de las garzas, como pescan necesitan un terreno con mas agua pero no tan profundo para los peces no huir, y por ultimo vemos a las gaviotas nadando, entonces vemos como el rio altera el comportamiento de las aves debido a las mareas! que tan importante es esto?😁😁

Si te digo que nuestro amigo artropodo de la foto coloca sus huevos en el agua entonces pensarias que podriamos encontrarlo cerca del rio cierto? algo tan simple y usando sentido comun nos ayuda a comprender el comportamiento de muchos insectos, porque de la misma forma esta especie solo coloca sus huevos en cuerpos de aguas poco profundos como pequeños lagos o rios, entonces en la marea baja solo vemos alimentandose de insectos como moscas, pero en marea alta es mas provable verlo en reproduccion!😮😮

Ya habia fotografiado flamencos en marea alta, osea cuando el agua llega a la mitad de sus patas, recordemos que son animales muy grandes! pero en esta zona me llamo la atencion que solo se alimentaban en la arena fangosa, imagino que con sus picos mueven la tierra buscando crustaceos o otros animales! te sorprenderia el comportamiento que tienen las comunidades de los flamencos, son tan inteligentes y con un avanzado sistema social que ellos tienen "amigos" osea tienen individuos que les gusta estar juntos con otros, y hay otros que no les agradan otros individuos y se alimentan lejos! es fantastico y por eso vemos grupos de flamencos separados y no todos juntos!😮🧎♂️🧎♀️🧍♂️🧍♀️👍👎💑👩❤️👩👨❤️👨👯♀️👯♂️

Interesante trabajo de observación de las aves y como se adaptan al ambiente. Debe ser muy agradable estar alli y ver los diferentes comportamientos de las especies y como la marea influye en sus habitats. Maravilloso, te felicito por permitirnos adentrarnos en esta naturaleza, ademas de la importancia de estar monitoreando los cambios. En una oportunidad lei que las aves son muy susceptibles a los cambios ambientales y nos avisan. En mi pais Venezuela la diversidad de aves es muy grande y existe un mirador natural que es un paso de las aves que vuelan desde el hemisferio norte hacia el sur, en el mes de septiembre, antes del invierno. Me pregunto si los cambios climáticos puedan afectar estas migraciones o comportamientos asociados a las mareas. Es todo un equilibrio. Saludos y bendiciones.

Me imagino que debes referirte al famoso paso henri pittier estuve alli capturando aves en el 2010 si no me equivoco, fue una experiencia mágica la cantidad de colibrisbque pasan por alli es una experiencia que un ornitologo no puede perderse! Lastima la situacion del pais, me dolio tanto abandonarlo 😢😩 apsrar de ser Portugues mi corazon nunva abandonara Venezuela soy el profesional que soy gracias a vuestro pais ❤️❤️
