The Odyssee continues but I am feeling I am not going anywhere!
Slowly but surely, this bloody laptop story is turning into a never-ending tale, and what at first seemed like a minor annoyance has turned into a major odyssey, the end of which is still not in sight. Quite the contrary, because even though I had hoped to be in calm waters by now, but suddenly and unexpectedly some new, even bigger rocks have piled up, which we are having a lot of trouble to circumnavigate at the moment.
Actually, I wanted to finally put an end to this situation and turn to other, really important topics and problems again, even if it is only about calm and relaxed sleep. But my efforts to buy a new laptop are now going into the next round, which hasn't even started yet. At the moment I somehow feel like I've been given a time penalty and have to sit on the bench for a while.
Since two weeks ago I was spending hours checking out different models and several times I was on the verge of closing some deal. But finally and somehow fortunately I always discovered some new setbacks. At least one of the programs, with which I must work regularly since last year, has certain requirements, and even some of the newest processors are suddenly not compatible anymore. It seems that once again someone has made some shady deal to get rid of some unloved competitors and to annoy me enormously with that.
But there's no use worrying, so I tried to set up the team differently and on Saturday I thought I had found the new superstar and was able to sign him. According to my understanding, the negotiations were successful and the transfer was made official. The arrival should not take so long and was scheduled for the beginning of this week.
Of course there is always some twist which life will have up its sleeves for me. Monday morning I was surprised to read that the whole deal was canceled by the seller, the online sales platform, without giving any reasons. So Monday and the whole week started somewhat messed up already, and I then had to torture myself through several annoying chat conversations, from which I learned that for security reasons the whole order was stopped. And of course I was not allowed or required to be told any further reasons. To spice things up, my Rakuten account, at the Japanese version of Amazon, is now also frozen and I have no idea if and when I will be allowed to use it again.
Needless to say, I'm now somehow trying to find a replacement for the actually firmly scheduled purchase, but as already mentioned I'm actually fed up completely. Maybe I'm too stupid or the universe just doesn't want me to buy a new laptop right now. Which was not really my plan and is only due to the current emergency situation. And that situation is not solved at all yet, so far I am just just bridging some gap.
But well, as mentioned at the beginning, pulling out of the game is no option and I will be on it again and hopefully more successful. I have to take another turn and go another round but it has surely became time to reach the port. Even if the new transfer should won't play in the Premier League anymore.
