Magnetic Hoverboard

Engineers from the popular YouTube channel called Hacksmith Industries created a functional hoverboard that uses magnets to float. And it’s not a hoax. Allegedly.

As you might expect, the hoverboard is not perfect and certainly doesn’t reach the desired levels of performance everyone who has ever seen Back To The Future is looking for. First of all, you can only use it while being on a lead surface. But secondly and probably more importantly – it is prone to easily catching on fire.

From what we know, the hoverboard uses a total of eight rotating magnets that create a magnetic field strong enough to keep it floating.

And while it may seem disappointing to some of you, it is actually a big success. Especially considering the fact that the board doesn’t require liquid nitrogen cooling. But as the video shows, the lesser amount of cooling does lead to the aforementioned fiery problems.

And if you are looking for cool YouTube content, Hacksmith Industries are quite a good choice as in the last they created, for example, a mini-Cybertruck capable of drifting or a lightsaber capable of cutting through metal.
