The water frogs or Pelophylax, it is said, are a genus established to accommodate the green frogs of the Old World. Water frogs are mentioned because they spend a lot of time in water in aquatic habitats such as rivers (source : Pelophylax). It is said that Pelophylax esculentus became a delicious meal in France (source : Edible frog). And another species of this genus is Graf's hybrid frog (Pelophylax kl. Grafi), and its natural habitat includes rivers (source : Pelophylax kl. grafi).
