I have always been very surprised with caterpillars and I have only seen 1 this year ... Great article, and yes. I would not have thought they are toxic (but I would never touch them to be honest)

Thank you, @katerinaramm! I remember, when I was a child, hearing vague warnings about caterpillars. There was the sense that we could get a rash from touching the wrong one. That was kind of country folk wisdom, which often is on target. The information in this blog was an eye-opener for me.
