I hope and desire that this new year that begins today is loaded with infinite blessings for all of you🙏, that prosperity, health and good things come to each of your homes, on this occasion I wanted to talk a little about the closing of the year for and some of the Venezuelan customs🤣.

Diciembre es un mes muy movido para todos nosotros, comienza con los compartir e intercambios de regalos que se hacen en el trabajo y con los amigos. Después de la cena navideña del 24 la rumbeadera no termina y es que para el venezolano lo más fácil que existe es encontrar motivos para continuar con el relajo. El día 28 de Diciembre celebran algo llamado los santos inocentes, o coloquialmente el día de los locos; en algunas localidades realizan fiestas donde ciertas personas se disfrazan de los santos inocentes y bailan por las calles, al mismo tiempo es el día donde se puede hacer cualquier tipo de broma pesada y nadie puede molestarse, solo te dicen: "CAISTE POR INOCENTE"🤣.
December is a busy month for all of us, starting with the sharing and exchange of gifts at work and with friends. After the Christmas dinner on the 24th the rumbeadera does not end and for the Venezuelan the easiest thing to do is to find reasons to continue with the relaxation. On December 28th they celebrate something called "Los Santos Innocentes", or colloquially "El Día de los Locos" (The Day of the Crazy); in some places they have parties where certain people dress up as the "Santos Innocentes" and dance in the streets, at the same time it is the day where you can make any kind of bad joke and nobody can be bothered, they only tell you: "CAISTE POR INOCENTE"🤣.
Fuente /SourceLuego viene el 31 de Diciembre, el día del cañonazo, como ya estamos un poquito aburridos de comer hallacas, entonces recurrimos a la parrilla (carne, pollo, chorizo, ensalada, yuca y guasacaca) acompañado de sangría caroreña, ponche o las tradicionales cervezas polar (en mi caso la acompaño de coca cola). Después de cenar, esperamos el cañonazo, que es la media noche; en ese tiempo escuchamos las tradicionales gaitas como: Faltan cinco pa´las doce, yo no olvido el año viejo y que te pasa viejo año que te pasa, entre otras🎼.
Then comes December 31st, the day of the cannonade, as we are already a little bored of eating hallacas, so we resort to the grill (meat, chicken, chorizo, salad, yucca and guasacaca) accompanied by Caribbean sangria, punch or the traditional polar beers (in my case I accompany it with coca cola). After dinner, we wait for the cannonazo, which is midnight; during this time we listen to the traditional bagpipes like: Faltan cinco pa'las doce, yo no olvido el año viejo y que te pasa viejo que te pasa, among others🎼.

Unas de las tradiciones que no podemos dejar de mencionar para este día, es que es se utiliza ropa íntima de color amarillo😀, según es para la buena suerte; otra es comer doce uvas justo a la media noche, algo como dar el feliz año y comer uvas al mismo tiempo y después salimos corriendo por toda la calle con una maleta, esto es para que en el año que comienza podamos viajar muchísimo.
One of the traditions that we can not fail to mention for this day, is that it is used underwear yellow, as is for good luck, another is to eat twelve grapes right at midnight, something like giving the happy year and eat grapes at the same time and then run down the street with a suitcase, this is so that in the year that begins we can travel a lot.

Ya después de desear feliz año, se sigue la rumba hasta que el cuerpo aguante, para el día 1ero no puede faltar una sopa en leña y si es posible a orilla del rio. Ya para el día 2 de Enero las personas que viajan a pasar el fin de año con sus familias comienzan el retorno a sus casas.
Already after wishing happy New Year, one follows the rumba until the body holds out, for the 1st day can not miss a soup in wood and if possible on the river bank. By January 2, people who travel to spend the New Year with their families start returning home.
