Recently, it has been alleged that the Chinese government is going to come up with new global guidelines for tech companies. It is learned that the new initiative will illegally monitor people and data.

Last month, the United States announced a similar effort called Clean Network.

Meanwhile, Chinese companies such as TikTok and Huawei are embroiled in a tussle between Washington and Beijing over data security issues.

State Councilor Wang Yi said in the context of US sanctions on Chinese companies, some individual countries were pursuing "unilateral aggression", dumping dirty water in other countries on the pretext of "cleanliness" and imposing sanctions on other countries' top agencies on the pretext of security.

He further added in his speech that it should be opposed and it should be rejected.

China's global data protection plan says technology companies should not engage in large-scale surveillance or obtain information from foreign nationals using technology illegally.

According to a legal expert, tech companies would welcome China's new initiative in setting global standards in data protection.

It is believed that China has taken new steps through the Global Guidelines in response to various US sanctions.
