Hello friends of the hive! ... Remember the PC that I was entrusted with doing maintenance because its performance was insufficient, today I will get it ready. Sometimes we can notice that our PC slows down and that is completely normal since daily tasks such as copying and deleting files, installing applications and even browsing the internet such as publishing and commenting on Hive cause long-term performance to be look affected. Fortunately, the Operating Systems have tools that help us to make them look like new ... "Let's get to work" let's start working.
The first thing I will do is delete all the files that you were saving during the time you used it, remember that I am going to do it this way because you are going to sell this PC and I must delete everything. Here is the procedure I followed:
Igualmente hago con la carpeta de Descargas y así vamos ganando espacio en disco.
Para terminar este procedimiento haré lo mismo con las carpetas Documentos, Imágenes, Música y Videos… Lo más tardado fue eliminar los vídeos ya que había más de trecientos.
Delete all the files that were on the Desktop that were few; By the way, it is worth naming a general rule for the proper functioning of the equipment and it is to avoid keeping folders, documents, videos, music on the desktop, for that there are folders with those specific qualities. I also do with the Downloads folder and thus we are gaining disk space. To finish this procedure I will do the same with the Documents, Images, Music and Videos folders ... The most time consuming was to delete the videos since there were more than three hundred.
So let's review this learned; No matter how powerful our computer is, it can show a decrease in its performance, which is normal in most cases. To rule out something different, it is best to pay attention to a too slow startup, programs that take longer to respond or slow to delete a file.
Usemos las Herramientas del Sistema -/- Let's use the System Tools.
To start we double-click on the equipment icon, a window like the one I show below will open.
Then we place the cursor on the disk we want to work on ... (In my case it is disk C :) and we press the right mouse button, a menu will appear in which we choose the last option which is Properties.
We can see the new window titled Properties: Local Disk (C :), if you look at the top there are several tabs, we must choose the one that says Tools.
In the Tools tab we can see three options displayed and we are going to choose the first one, for this we press the "Check now" button.
Finally, the final window appears, which is entitled "Check local disk disk (C :)" in which we must select the two options.
This type of work is described by many people as something tedious or complicated and for that reason they let technical personnel do it, however with proper guidance it is possible to do it without major setbacks...
The system will give a warning that the disk cannot be checked while it is in use. We proceed to press the button that says (Schedule disk check). Now nothing will happen until we restart the computer.

Now let's hope that the System Tool does the job ... we must bear in mind that this may take several minutes, everything will depend on the time we have without performing this task and of course on how much information the disk contains, since it can take even hours.
