RE: Former Harvard Prof. Martin Kulldorff: ‘Science and Public Health Are Broken’

This reminds me of the Replication Crisis. Many publications are not being replicated by other scientists for verification of results and are still being published in peer reviewed journals. Makes it difficult to support your positions with peer reviewed studies. What can we do about this? All I can think of is to fall back on the Trivium, mainly logic, but as far as I know most public schools don't even teach logic anymore. I had to choose a class in university to learn logic.

Science needs to return to its roots. In science there is nothing to "believe in", and experiments don't "prove" things. In science, you accept (or don't accept) evidence for things and experiments provide evidence and/or support for a hypothesis or null hypothesis.

It's scary to think that a lot of studies are unreplicable or no one ever endeavors to attempt to reproduce them. And both sides of the COVID-19 issue are relying on appeals to authority and experiments that have not been replicated to confirm results.

Very strange things are happening at all levels, power and money prevent science from following its normal paths of discovery.
It is not science if it is misrepresented.
It's not science if you manipulate data.
It is not science if you hide Data.
It is not science without reproducibility,
Much less POLITICIANS handling science, it is not science.
