Greetings to all my dear and appreciated readers of this platform, today I will be addressing a very relevant topic in the organizational world, it is the importance that organizations have to guarantee their workers all the occupational safety measures established by the legal system and thus avoid penalties that affect their operations and most importantly ensure the safety of their workers who are those who put in place all the operations of the organization.

Based on the above, every day companies have the challenge of seeking that the elements involved in the production processes achieve the greatest harmony and thus perform the actions with the efficiency they require. For this reason they are constantly checking that the personnel are in the ideal conditions for work, that the spaces are adequate, that the technologies are working properly and that the customer receives a satisfactory response from the company.

Based on this situation ( Perez 2013) states that: "occupational health and safety is defined as the science and art dedicated to the recognition, evaluation and control of those environmental factors or conditions emanating from or caused by the workplace that can cause diseases, destroy health and well-being or create significant discomfort among workers or citizens of a community".

In business organizations, occupational health and safety and operational excellence must be reviewed in order to achieve success in the actions involved. But there are industries in which workers are perceived with constant health problems, sites not suitable for the performance of work, lack of knowledge of safety and hygiene standards, no good treatment among employees; which causes that people do not perform the work on time, lack of ergonomics at work, lack of teamwork, no proper attention to customers; leading to low work performance, low productivity and lack of efficiency of the company.

Safety implies the protection of employees against injuries due to work-related accidents. Health refers to the absence of physical or emotional illness in employees. Problems in these areas affect productivity and quality of work life. That is why occupational health and safety addresses everything related to the integral health care and the aspects that surround the worker so that he/she can perform the actions to the fullest. Operational excellence is based on the involvement of all employees, teamwork to solve problems and the constant search for continuous improvement throughout the organization". The above states that the performance of all and getting everything to agree, the expected success and the realization of the activities with the greatest possible efficiency will be achieved.

Hello @carlir!

I can tell that most companies but not all look after the health of their workers and try to ensure that they are working under safe conditions using various ways and technologies in order to achieve that. Yet I remember one of the most recent things, which is world cup in Qatar, many workers died almost everyday due to poor work environments such as heat, long work ours or lack of safety equipment and that's really sad thing to happen.

Thanks for sharing!
