What is Starlink?

Starlink is an Internet Service from SpaceX where the internet is provided from a constellation of Satellites around the earth. It is still in the beta phase but there have been talks with the Indian Government for a possible Starlink deployment here in India by 2022.

If that is true that will be quite the help as still there are areas in India that don't have proper Internet Access. Since Starlink is supposed to cost about 100 USD every Village may be able to afford them. This will definitely be a step in the right direction for us Indians. But then again I did write might in my title as this may or may not happen as we might see a similar situation as Tesla where Tesla was supposed to be available in India soon but sadly it is yet to be available here in India. So I am not that excited about it but I will definitely keep an eye on it.

I think it's definitely coming. Maybe not by that date, but I wouldn't think it would be much after. An earlier poster somewhere else said that SpaceX has over 1100 satellites already deployed of a total of just under 1500 planned and I'm pretty sure they're just continuing to put them up there. I can't link the article, sorry, but it was in the last couple weeks if you want to search for it. He was talking about Brazil I think....

Entry of starlink can cause a serious problems for many established internet service providers. Hence there would be lot of resistance and pressure from the existing players to avoid taking decision to get them to India
