Computers For All Campaign

Last Friday May 10th we had another great nft exhibition in Wynwood, Miami but this time we included the digital artists from the non profit organization "The On It Foundation". This non profit organization helps economically challenged children and their families by providing them with computers and educational STEM workshops.

The NFT exhibition took place at our gallery studio named Miart Space. The gallery space is located in Wynwood which is the main art district in Miami, Florida. Since last fall 2021 we haven't stopped exhibiting cryptoart at the gallery and I definitely find it fascinating since now the artworks get a global exposure. We posted some of the exhibition info in our twitter account: https://twitter.com/ArtAtelierMiami

The On It Foundation was created by Ms Calvetta Pheir who was also present at the past nft show in Wynwood. Her story is very interesting since she created the foundation based on her own personal story. When her child was young she needed a computer but they couldn't afford it, this is when she started knocking doors and making calls to find a computer donation.

Nowadays where technology rules, having the appropriate computer knowledge is very important. The On It foundation provides STEM (acronym that stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workshops for children from Kinder to 12th grade.

Don't forget that lower income families, people with less education, those with disabilities, Blacks, Hispanics, and rural residents generally lagged the national average in both broadband adoption and computer use. You could check out her beautiful mission or give them a donation directly in their website https://theonitfoundation.org/donations/

Thanks for taking your time in reading this post. During these rough times it feels refreshing to wake up humanitarian activities like this one.
The photo images I used in this post belong to myself :)

How do you make the artistic activity profitable, and sustainable over time?
Art, for me, is undoubtedly a form of expression.
Art is very broad, but focusing on the activity you exhibit, I believe that galleries are going through a process of transition and evolution.
This form of artistic expression, be it pictures, paintings, or drawings, is valued by the individual, when he manages to transcend his economy and has the economic resources to acquire these designs that transmit some emotion, memory, feeling, or simply for investment.
The scenario in which we speak post-pandemic has an important sector of the world in a survival situation. They are working or using their resources to survive.
In that state, artistic expression is not taken into account, since it is considered a luxury from that point of view. Temporarily, but from that state, it is not a necessity. "You can live without painting".
Well, but: how to make an artistic activity profitable or sustainable, in a post-pandemic environment? That is what occupies my comment.
Of course, not all the population is in a situation of survival, a group, perhaps smaller, has the possibility of valuing artistic expression.
Since the valuation of artistic activity is not valued temporarily, the individual transcends its economic process and can look at and appreciate artistic expression.
So, to get help from governmental or non-governmental institutions that allow artistic activity.
I believe that artistic activities should migrate their target to those who can pay for their intangible value, and should also seek support from companies and governmental institutions that allow them to overcome this transition.
This implies making efforts, which often do not bear fruit. So it is a job of perseverance and perseverance in the search for resources.
Well Ana, open new advertising campaigns and efforts to request resources. I am certain that you will be able to sustain yourselves and go through this transition.
I have seen many plastic artists, who have ups and downs in their finances, and only those who make investments in areas other than art, are those who show a more or less constant status. Well, it is up to you to take the necessary measures.
Best regards.
