¡Bienvenidos a mi post! // Welcome to my post

// Greetings to the entire #GEMS community who have given me so much support on this #HIVE platform. Today I bring you another repair that I did, which was paused for 2 LONG YEARS motivated because I had not had time to repair it, and I did not have much budget for it ... Well, with the arrival of the quarantine, many have become creative and have done the things they have never lost, and why don't I do it? I decided to take it apart and check it out. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures when I took it apart, so I bring the diagnosis and repair straight to you.

En primer lugar, la falla fue diagnosticada con lo siguiente // First, the failure was diagnosed with the following:

// Three (3) capacitors from 16V to 1000uF , which when measured did not indicate their full or minimum capacity. For example, being 1000uF , the minimum value you should dial should be 970, since your NEW value is around 1050 to 1120uF. NOTE TO TECHNICIANS: Do not trust if the capacitor is whole, without physical damage or literally looking new, the ones I removed from the power card looked like new.
Próximamente será revisado, reparado y subido a #HIVE para mostrarles que ya funciona // After having repaired the monitor, I noticed that the power adapter was also faulty, voltage deficiency. Soon it will be reviewed, repaired and uploaded to #HIVE to show them that it already works..

  • Herramientas usadas // Tools used in this repairing

  • Multímetro marca MUSTOOL MT108T. // Multimeter MUSTOOL MT108T
  • Estaño 0.8mm // Tin
  • Extractor de estaño // Tin extractor (vacum)
  • Cautin de 30w marca TRUPER // 30w Tin soldier TRUPER
  • Tres (3) capacitores de 16V1000uF // 3 Capacitors of 16v1000uF
  • Herramientas

    Capacitores:

Because my soldering iron is failing and the card where I am doing the soldering has multiple layers, the solder did not look great because of the high heat dissipation that the card generated. Also, support tips were added since the capacitors had to lie flat so that they did not collide with the protective metal casing. In the same way, the welds were reinforced underneath and their connectivity was verified:

Ya con la soldadura terminada, procedemos a ensamblar todo // With the weld finished, we proceed to assemble everything:

After having pre-armed everything, I tried to do a test but it turns out that the POWER button was damaged, it did not work, which forced me to download the card where the buttons were, and having no the replacement, I had to recycle buttons that I don't use on this device:

I removed the tin of one of the buttons and proceeded with its removal:

    15.jpg

Del otro lado, el botón dañado, también fue extraído // On the other side, the damaged button was also removed..

    14.jpg

Con los pulsadores en su lugar, procedo a volver a armar la tarjeta // With the buttons in place, I proceed to reassemble the card.

Colocamos el protector para el controlador de unidad de DVD // We put the protector for the DVD drive controller:

    17.jpg

Y luego el protector para la tarjeta de alimentación // And then the protector for the power card:

    18.jpg

Colocamos la cubierta trasera de plástico//We put the plastic back cover:

    19.jpg

I forgot, this stage is placed on the right side and protects the interior from dust:

    21.jpg

    22.jpg

Procedemos a colocar la base del soporte // We proceed to place the base of the support:

    23.jpg

Listo, en su lugar // Ready, in it place

    24.jpg

Conectamos el adaptador de corriente // It is time to test if what we did works. We connect the power adapter:

    25.jpg

¡BIEN! The orange light means the monitor is waiting for an input signal (Previously it was only left in red light).

Procedemos a encender // We proceed to power-on:

    26.jpg

// Yes, the plastic button is broken, but that does not prevent the button from working ...

    27.jpg

    ¡FUNCIONA! // WORKS!

    28.jpg

    29.jpg

Everything went as expected, correct and working. I will be uploading update about the power adapter to you soon as as I mentioned at the beginning it is faulty and probably caused the failure in the first place .
