This week's photo I took while exploring the mysterious Easter Island also known as Rapanui in Chile

Easter island is such a unique part of the earth filled with so many unanswered questions, especially questions about the Moai. The Moai are the gigantic man like statues that are found all over the island.

Questions like why did they build these and how did they move them around the island?? when the smallest Moai weigh in around 14 tons!

In this photo, I took this shot from the fence line of the 15 Moai standing in a row at Ahu Tongariki.
The Moai here are such a sight to behold!

Easter Island? This is a very remote and exotic place.
In the seventies of the last century, there was a Czech engineer who "taught" the Moai to walk again :-). Hopefully I can remember his name by Sunday.
