All things "Meugang Day", a unique tradition in Aceh
Aceh is the most special area in my opinion, because there are many customs and ceremonies carried out in Aceh. One of them is intangible heritage, namely the mention in Acehnese language "Uroe Mak Meugang" or "Uroe Seumesih" if interpreted in Indonesian is the day of Slaughtering a cow or buffalo in Aceh. None of these events were held outside of Aceh simultaneously. This event has long been carried out by the people of Aceh, it used to be done when Aceh was still led by the kings of Aceh. In the past, the kings of Aceh made this event to welcome the entry of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the time of the arrival of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The king who was in power at that time would distribute meat for free to the underprivileged, orphans and others. The king of Aceh and the people welcome the meugang day with joy to this day.
At that time, beef traders were very busy, there were many impromptu beef traders, plus the presence of residents who flocked to buy beef dasi which would be processed by various types of food. However, the price is also very expensive. People don't bother with prices that have soared drastically. This moment is taken by traders who regularly sell meat and even impromptu sellers. Meugang Day takes place 3 times a year.
Thank You..
