Happy new year! Some cool silver from other new year!

It is interesting how the Chinese Zodiac animals are famous in the numismatic coins. There are 12 animals and each one of them represents a year. The next new year starts in our Western calendar on January 29th and it will be the year of the snake (I already bought a Perth Mint coin to celebrate it) and I am in the queue to buy the Asahi one. But I established a goal of buying the Year of the Rat coins, since I was born in 1984, the year of the Rat.

The last year of the rat was 2020 and the next one is still a bit far away in 2032. And I am trying to find coins to previous years of the Rat. I could find a not bad price one from 2008 (interesting that it comes also with 2007 year since it was produced a bit earlier) and one from the last one in 2020. Both coins are from Australia but from different mints.

The Perth mint coin's Year of the Rat comes in a nice box, and it is very shiny. The Australian Royal Mint also produces this type of coin, and their 2008's is a bit better in my opinion, you can check here. My 2018 coin is from the Australian Royal Mint by the way and the design is so nice. It has the word "Rat" in Chinese and the obverse, you can see all the animals together. The Perth's mint year of the rat, they called year of the mouse, both similar rodents and it comes with two mice on corn.

Including 1984, we had more than 3 years of the rat. I am also searching for 1996 coins, but still have not found them. Couldn't find it yet from either Perth and Royal Australia Mint. On Numista website, I found one from Bhutan and one from China. I wish you all the best in the New Year if you celebrate it today :). Let's see what more Precious metals will come in the next year.

O próximo ano novo começa no nosso calendário ocidental em 29 de janeiro e será o ano da cobra (eu já comprei uma moeda da Perth Mint para comemorar) e estou na fila para comprar a Asahi. Mas estabeleci uma meta de comprar moedas do Ano do Rato, já que nasci em 1984, o ano do Rato.

O último ano do rato foi 2020 e o próximo ainda está um pouco longe, em 2032. E estou tentando encontrar moedas de anos anteriores do Rato. Consegui encontrar uma de 2008 com um preço não tão ruim (é interessante que ela também vem com o ano de 2007, já que foi produzida um pouco antes) e uma da última de 2020. Ambas as moedas são da Austrália, mas de casas da moeda diferentes.

A moeda do Ano do Rato da Perth Mint vem em uma caixa bonita e é muito brilhante. A Australian Royal Mint também produz esse tipo de moeda, e a de 2008 é um pouco melhor na minha opinião, você pode conferir aqui. Minha moeda de 2018 é da Australian Royal Mint, a propósito, e o design é muito bonito. Ela tem a palavra "Rat" em chinês e no anverso, você pode ver todos os animais juntos. O ano do rato da casa da moeda de Perth, eles chamavam de ano do camundongo, ambos roedores semelhantes e vêm com dois camundongos com um milho.

Incluindo 1984, tivemos mais de 3 anos do rato. Também estou procurando moedas de 1996, mas ainda não as encontrei. Ainda não consegui encontrá-las em Perth e na Royal Australia Mint.
