The role of progress
The role of progress is extremely important within a business mechanism
Within a company we can identify progress in various forms, one of the most important is called technical progress.
Technical progress is the acquisition process that a company implements of knowledge and skills. The ultimate goal of technical progress is to improve production efficiency which will cause a reduction in company costs.
Mainly this type of progress is achieved through a research and development process.

Human capital
If we put together all the data shown so far, we might be able to understand what causes long-term growth.
What determines growth in the long term is technical progress. This means that long-term growth comes from the development of new products, the introduction of new services, new machinery, new production processes and new business models.

By studying human capital we can understand that beyond a certain level the increase in human capital is not sufficient. The production function can become flat beyond a certain point. In this case the only solution is to move to a higher production function using more advanced technology obtained through investments in research and development.

Il ruolo del progresso
Il ruolo del progresso è estremamente importante all’interno di un meccanismo aziendale
All’interno di un’azienda possiamo identificare il progresso sotto varie forme, una di quelle più importante è chiamata progresso tecnico.
Il progresso tecnico è il processo di acquisizione che attua un’azienda nei confronti di conoscenza e abilità. Come fine ultimo il progresso tecnico ha quello di migliorare l’efficienza produttiva che provocherà un abbassamento dei costi aziendali.
Principalmente questa tipologia di progresso si realizza tramite un processo di ricerca e sviluppo.

Il capitale umano
Se mettessimo insieme tutti i dati fino a qui mostrati, potremmo essere in grado di capire da cosa è data la crescita di lungo periodo.
Ciò che determina la crescita sul lungo periodo è il progresso tecnico. Questo significa che la crescita sul lungo periodo è data dallo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti, dall’introduzione di nuovi servizi, nuovi macchinari, nuovi processi produttivi e nuovi modelli di business.
Il reparto è l’area che deve dedicarsi al progresso tecnologico è l’area della ricerca e sviluppo, conosciuta come R&D
La formula che viene usata in questo ambito per scrivere matematicamente appunto questi aspetti è la seguente.

Il termina di destra rappresenta cosa determina la crescita di R&D

Analisi su quanto detto
Possiamo affermare che la crescita di lungo periodo, secondo il modello di Solow, è data dalla crescita che nasce o proviene dall'interno dell’impresa (chiamata crescita endogena)
Questa crescita è basata sull’investimento che si fa nel campo della ricerca e sviluppo (R&D)

Conclusioni
Studiando il capitale umano possiamo comprendere che oltre ad un certo livello l’aumento di capitale umano non è sufficiente. La funzione di produzione può diventare piatta oltre ad un certo punto. In questo caso l’unica soluzione è passare ad una funzione di produzione più elevata utilizzando una tecnologia più avanzata ottenuta tramite gli investimenti in ricerca e sviluppo.
