Innanzitutto dobbiamo comprendere a cosa servono le presentazioni e perché sono importanti.
Le presentazioni servono per:
-Informare. Una presentazione permette di spiegare un argomento, un progetto, un prodotto o una ricerca.
-Convincere e raccomandare.
Le presentazioni, oltre a descrivere fatti possono essere usate per proporre soluzioni e sostenere idee.
-Favorire la comunicazione professionale. Questo è forse il punto più importante. Per chi usa l'inglese nel lavoro le presentazioni sono fondamentali per presentare progetti, esporre risultati aziendali, illustrare analisi economiche, discutere miglioramenti di processo, comunicare con i clienti.

Immaginiamo di dover fare un corso. Per salutare un pubblico possiamo usare le seguenti formule.

Presentare se stessi è sempre importante e per farlo proporrei queste tre semplici formule:

La proprio posizione, funzione, reparto, azienda
Per presentarsi, quando si è in un contesto aziendale, la cosa migliore è indicare la propria posizione, funzione, reparto e azienda.
Ritengo questa la presentazione più importante in ambito aziendale e quando si incontra un nuovo collega io sarei per usare sempre due formule (o l'una o l'altra):
1-As some of you know, I’m the purchasing manager.

La prima forma è velocissima e dopo una brevissima frase di introduzione si spiega subito il ruolo aziendale.
La seconda forma spiega prima il ruolo che si ricopre in azienda e poi informa su quale responsabilità abbiamo in azienda.

Introduzione di un argomento
Quando vogliamo iniziare un discorso, spesso non sappiamo come introdurre l'argomento che vogliamo presentare.
In questo caso proporrei tre forme di presentazione, partendo dalla più completa come frase arrivando alla più sintetica e diretta. Eccole qui tutte e tre riportate.

Altre presentazioni
Ci sono poi alter presentazioni come:
-Spiegare perché l'argomento è rilevante per il pubblico.
-Tempistica
-Dichiarare il proprio scopo
-Sequenziamento
-Materiale informativo distribuito
ed altro che riguarda la presentazione dei colleghi, di problemi rilevati ecc...ecc... che magari vedremo più avanti

Conclusioni
Le presentazioni in inglese sono uno strumento essenziale nel mondo universitario e professionale. Servono a informare, persuadere, spiegare dati complessi, coinvolgere il pubblico e supportare il processo decisionale. Per un futuro impiegato/a o tecnico/a che avrà a che fare con colleghi sparsi in tutto il mondo, le presentazioni rappresentano una competenza chiave.

L'arte della presentazione ha origini molto antiche. Già nell'Antica Grecia, intorno al V secolo a.C., filosofi e oratori come Socrate, Platone e soprattutto Aristotele studiavano le tecniche per parlare in pubblico in modo efficace.
