This is not an advertisement-goal post.

In the last few days, I created again a new logo for an hypothetical business, following the path of a periodical initiative with which I decided to share the steps of the creation process of the corresponding logo. You find the summary of the steps in the paragraphs below. In some ones of the posts in this periodical initiative, you can find the phrase "Join LOGOBAKERY": if you want to know more, you can CLICK ON THIS LINK. Summarizing, Logobakery is an initiative with which I create simple logos for initial and non-professional use, which can then be purchased in case a hypothetical customer wants to do it.

Primo passo: il nome.

First step: the name.

Even for this logo, I first came up with a word to use as a name. The reference activity was a hypothetical optician's center, so I thought of something that could be combined in a nice and not demanding way. My choice fell on the word "Disbieko". I took as a reference the Italian expression "di sbieco" ("on the bias"), retouching it a little. The expression means something like "oblique" or "not straight" or "sideways".

Vediamo meglio i passaggi.
Look to the steps.

First, I launched the graphics suite I use, the open-source Inkscape (you find more information on the official website, CLICKING HERE). I pinned the name “Patatrak” to a blank page, using a random typeface.

I then changed the color to a tone of red a little paler and faded than usual, drawing some lines at the same angle considering a hypothetical vertical axis, but changing the direction of rotation.

What was the use of this passage for me? You can see it in the image below: I created sections of the written name with a different color, cutting the previous one into several portions.

I then tried an extremely simple first result, deleting the straight line segments drawn and moving the letters in the background a little. The result is a version with staggered letters that seems to me to give an idea of a cartoon-style.

But did I want to stop here? Of course not, so I decided to try a second result a little more advanced. I brought the letters back to their classic position, aligned on the horizontal plane. I then inserted other splits, creating letters with more sections of dark color. As a reference, I used the line segments that I showed in the first stage of the creation process. This is what I'm talking about.

I tried to create a little more characterization: the rather simple idea was to create a completely filled letter. In my opinion, the most suitable was the letter B, so I tried to create it without too much delay.

The final touch I wanted to add was a rectangular shape on the base (in continuity with the letters), and a descriptive portion of the logo. I created both of the two ones and decided to add a multiple colors version with a faded edge, unlike the simpler one in which I only used a couple of them. Et voilà, the final result.

Finito anche per oggi!

Even again, we're to the end!

Once again, I repeat: the name “Disbieko” doesn't follow any existing subject, nor does it refer to anything real. In these initiatives, I propose combinations that are often paradoxical, in strong contrast to each others, or with ironic tones. I emphasize: the terms used are not meant to be offensive in any way.

I hope I left you a smile or some ideas. I give you an appointment for a next episode that I will publish in the coming weeks. Said this...

Ciao e alla prossima!

Goodbye and to the next post!
