Candle in the Wind 1997: An Impeccable Lament

Members of Queen Elizabeth's Welsh Guard Regiment carry coffins covering the royal emblem through the streets of London. The expedition started from Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham and St. James Palace and the purpose was to visit Westminster Abbey. Queen Elizabeth II nodded, standing on the porch of Buckingham Palace.Accompanying the funeral procession from St. James's Palace are the Queen's husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles of Wales, her two sons, Prince William and Harry, and Earl Spencer of Althorpe. William and Harry's cards, addressed to their mother, were adorned on the coffin full of flowers.

There are about a million people standing on either side of the road. Although it was not a state funeral, it was attended by celebrities from all over the world at Westminster Abbey. There are current and former British Prime Minister, Member of Parliament, US First Lady Hillary Clinton, French First Lady Bernadette Chirac, Queen of Jordan and the Netherlands, King of Greece and Spain, Prince and Princess of Japan, President of South Africa Nelson Mandela, Tom Hanks.Many Hollywood and music celebrities, including Steven Spielberg. Famous musicians Elton John and George Michael entered together.

The funeral of Princess Diana Spencer of Wales began at eleven o'clock in the morning. Elton John took to the stage after a speech by his two sisters and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, singing one of his best songs, Candle in the Wind 1997, on the piano. With Princess Diana, this song took a permanent place in people's minds.
