Monomad : Diptera - Asilidae

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge

Whenever I hunt for insects, whether in the grass, bush or forest, I often think of one species of robber fly. For some reason I always feel challenged to take pictures of this one Diptera. Although I am aware that photographing robber flies is not an easy task because in addition to these insects being wild, sometimes they also perch on branches that are not friendly to light for shooting.

Like when I found this robber a few days ago, he was perched on twigs and wild plants under the leaves of a large tree. This is certainly not very supportive of light to take pictures, besides the wild leaves in the background are also slightly disturbed so that the photos are not very optimal.

However, I have selected some photos of Robber fly (Asilidae) that might be appropriate to add variety to the photos in today's #monomad challenge. Here are some photos:
