The Solitary One

On this sunny Tuesday, I'm looking forward to taking part in the daily #monomad challenge, which is hosted and curated by @monochromes.

I'll publish some photos of solitary mushrooms that grow on rotting wood trees—despite the fact that this species of fungus is more commonly found in groups.

In certain ways, I love smaller solitary mushrooms over clustered ones. The reason for this is that I usually photograph using a smartphone with an additional macro lens, which is quite handy for capturing the subject's focus in enough detail.
