Monomad: The Little One With the Big Prey

These are macro images I'm attempting to submit for the #monomad challenge hosted by @monochromes.

Hunts are common in the animal kingdom. You have to wolf down others to survive, and it's a natural law that applies even if it's not written down.

What's fascinating is that the smallest does not necessarily imply the weakest.

Sometimes a predator emerges from the smallest animal with larger prey. This lynx spider is an example. The spider ambushes prey that is larger than it is. Yeah, a true bug as the prey.

The lynx spider attacks the vital point of the bug with its powerful and deadly jaws, killing the prey instantly.

That day, it was enough for the spider to catch large prey. The hunt will resume when the belly is empty. Who will be the next prey?

All of the images here are my own work, taken with Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
