DIY Oil Palm Fresh Fruit Bunch Transport Vehicle to Assist Work on Plantations

Hello ASEAN Hive friends.

This time, I'd like to share about a homemade transport vehicle used to assist with work on oil palm plantations. This simple vehicle is made using a motorcycle engine and a specially designed metal frame to carry loads of fresh fruit bunches (FFB).

Tonight, the vehicle is being used to transport the palm oil harvest to the collection point. Despite its simple appearance, the vehicle is quite robust and significantly reduces labor when carrying heavy loads.

The advantage of using a pre-assembled vehicle like this is that it's relatively cheaper to build than buying a new transport vehicle. Furthermore, maintenance and repairs are easier because most of the components use readily available spare parts.

For palm oil plantation workers, simple innovations like this are invaluable for improving work efficiency. With the help of transport vehicles, the process of moving harvested crops is faster, allowing for more efficient work.

From the photos I took, you can see the engine, steering system, and frame are simply constructed yet functional. The wide-tread tires also help this vehicle navigate the often muddy and uneven garden paths.
