We are finally in November, the month in which the new generation of consoles will transition. With PlayStation 5 just around the corner, Sony wants to ensure that all users who buy it get the most out of it, and that is why they have released several videos explaining some of the basics of the machine's operating system.

Recommended settings

Through this video, the Japanese company wants to show users the best possible settings when it comes to maximizing the experience of playing on a PS5.

  • First we have the 3D audio settings menu, through which you can connect the headphones and choose the audio profile that best suits each player's ear.
  • Second is the configuration menu for the haptic functions and the adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller. Within the Control menu (found in the Accessories menu), you can adjust the vibration levels or the intensity of the effect that affects the triggers.
  • When putting the console into Sleep Mode, up to three different options will be offered. The Optimized Experience will allow the machine to be remotely turned on, the software to be updated, and the controls to be loaded. The other alternatives are an
  • Energy Saver mode that focuses solely on it, and a custom mode.
Other interesting options within the settings menu are the ability to activate Remote Play, to be able to activate the console with PlayStation App, to activate downloads and updates automatically or to be able to select certain settings for all games.

Does PS5 work at 1440p? What if you have a 2K monitor? We clarify all your doubts

The short answer is yes. PS5 is compatible with monitors and televisions that display images at resolutions of 1440p in the sense that we can connect the console and enjoy it without problems while the image fills the screen.

  • The problem is that the output signal of the PS5 has a resolution of 1080p or 4K. In other words, the signal will never match the resolution at which our monitor displays the image if it is 1440p (as is the case with many players). This will force us that the output signal has to be 1080p so that, later, it is our monitor that scales this signal (inventing in some way, thanks to artificial intelligence, the missing pixels) up to 1440p.
  • This means that the image quality will be somewhat worse than if the signal was 1440p natively. It will also make the final quality of the image depend, to a certain extent, on the ability that our monitor has to perform this scaling.

Account uses

When we turn on a PlayStation 5 for the first time, within the initial setup process two different options will appear to log in. The first is manual, writing the email address and associated password, while the second allows you to log in much faster and easier with the PlayStation App and a QR code.

All you have to do is log in to the PlayStation App with the user you want to set on the console, go to settings and start on PlayStation 5 using the QR that appears on the TV / monitor screen. In addition, the username can be changed at any time.

Data transfer

One of the biggest doubts for players who are going to make the leap from PS4 to PS5 is the transfer of all their saved data, and from Sony they have clarified step by step what steps will be necessary to follow to do it correctly.

  • Step 1: Update the software of the PlayStation 4 in question to the latest version available and log in with the user you plan to use on the PlayStation 5.
  • Step 2: Connect both the PS5 and PS4 consoles to the same network. In case of doing it via Wi-Fi, connecting both machines with an Ethernet cable can speed up the data transfer process.
  • Step 3: Follow the procedure indicated on the screen until the transfer begins in the background. While in progress, you can use PS5 as normal.

Other ways to do the data transfer would be by inserting the PS4 game discs into the PS5 slot, playing the PlayStation 4 titles on the PlayStation 5 through an external hard drive (which is recommended for the PS5 SSD can fully dedicate themselves to PS5 games that require it), using a USB device, using the PS Plus Cloud Save Data Download option, or downloading previously purchased games from the PS Store from the virtual library.

Finally, I want to remind you that PlayStation 5 will go on sale in some regions from next November 12, while the rest of the countries will be able to start marketing it from the 19th of the same month.
