RE: Ryzen 5000 Series and Big Navi | Thoughts!

I'm very much not likely to get any of this new gen stuff as I've just brought myself a 3900x and 5700xt, But I'm upgrading from a 7th gen intel and nvidia 980ti so I'm going to see massive performance gains either way.

If it wasn't for the fact computer case modding is sooo time consuming I'd be running it now, been sitting on the parts for a month now.

Unless you want every little gains, 3900X is a very, very nice CPU and should be more than enough for basically any power user and should last for years. Case modding is something I'll never do, I like my simple, minimal aesthetics. :)

As a person who upgraded from a 6th gen Intel i5-6600k to Ryzen 5 3600... the performance gain is... indescribable.

ohhhh, even more hyped now, I've already got a taste of the 5700xt as I've had that connected to my computer with the intel, running on gen 3 pci-e rather than gen 4. Was really nice, but double pci-e bandwidth and the massive cpu upgrade.. my god...

With case modding, i'd never do it again. It's really nice to have something unique but the amount of effort involved I just cba. Although to be fair once we've sorted this case mod out I'm basically set for life beside some minor tweaks if needed when upgraded parts. (due to layout difference and all that)
