Como dato curioso gracias al éxito inicial de la Atari 2600, en el año 1986 se lanzó una versión “Lite” de dicha consola que fue apodada el Atari 2600 JR. Ya que en si era el mismo chip de la consola pero con menos capacidad a nivel de hardware por lo que podíamos disfrutar de videojuegos menos demandantes que estuvieran disponibles para la Atari 2600 original, y es que a nivel de hardware el Atari 2600 contaba con un cpu que funcionaba a 1,19mhz y que era de la arquitectura de MOS Tecnology 6507, una serie de procesadores que seguirían usando las consolas sucesoras de la Atari 2600, además la Atari 2600 era capaz de poder albergar un procesador de audio y vídeo que podía transmitir la imagen y sonido a un televisor de la época, ya que era capaz de ejecutar los videojuegos en resoluciones de 160x190 que si bien a día de hoy eso podría compararse al tamaño de una simple imagen gif, en aquellos tiempos era algo bastante novedoso, ya que además dicho chip le permitía al Atari 2600 poder ejecutar hasta 128 colores en pantalla con una calidad de 4 colores por línea, lo que quiere decir que teníamos un ratio de imagen bastante aceptable y que además era capaz de mejorar la calidad de imagen de las ya conocida máquinas arcade, que en su defecto tenían un rendimiento un poco inferior al que podía tener esta consola, y es que además la Atari 2600 era capaz de poder leer la información de cada cartucho incluso hasta un tamaño de 32kb, y debido a que los juegos que eran sacados para esta consola, eran videojuegos que a día de hoy podrían ser emulados incluso hasta en un navegador web, lo cierto es que la Atari 2600 era capaz de leer dichos cartuchos a una velocidad impresionante, sin duda alguna la Atari 2600 tuvo una historia asombrosa, y es de esas consolas que de solo ver su aspecto físico nos trae la sensación de nostalgia y que nos deja ver la evolución de las consolas con el tiempo, pero que sobre todo es asombroso echar un vistazo atrás para poder observar lo que fueron consolas como estas en su época, por lo que poder ver o tener una a día de hoy, es un total privilegio, ya que tenemos una reliquia de los inicios los videojuegos en consola.

Feliz año amigo @sadbear yo comencé jugando con una de estas consolas, actualmente me encuentro en una búsqueda frenética de una en funcionamiento, pues quiero sacar una saga de gameplays desde la consola original.
Sin duda para mi una de las mejores consolas de todos los tiempos.
