Xbox Series X part 1 - Why I'm buying one

avatar

I have not ever bought my own gaming console. When I was a kid my dad got me a 8 bit nintendo and a Gameboy. After that he bought me a PC and I've only ever played games on a PC. A few years ago my brother gave me his PS4 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately these were stolen so I didn't think I would ever buy a gaming console again.

Until a month ago. I visited a friend's house to play board games and he showed me his Xbox Series X. The game he was playing was No Man's Sky. It was a pretty amazing looking game - everything looked so real like it was on another planet. Then he pointed out that there was NO stock anywhere for this console. I thought.. why? It's $750, not exactly a cheap gaming console, how could there be no stock?

So I went home and googled. I found out that the cost to build a PC that can run 4K games at 120hz like the Xbox Series X can would cost close to $3000. So essentially buying an Xbox for $750 is like getting a 75% discount off a PC. Why would you pay 4 times more to get a PC when you can just get the Xbox series X to play games? Especially when you can plug a keyboard/mouse into an Xbox series X and use it like a computer for browsing the internet etc.

So that is why I've decided to get an Xbox. In the next video I will talk about how I got one.. it is not easy when there is no stock!
