Five Great Free PC Games To Cure Your Boredom

When it comes to PC gaming, there's so many great games out there that you can play, but most of them cost money. With many people under self-quarantine right now, many are turning to gaming as a means to pass the time. Some people are financially struggling right now so I decided to throw together a list of five great PC games that are completely free to download and play.

Let's get into it!

Halo 5: Forge Bundle

Believe it or not, you can download and play Halo 5 completely for free. This is the Forge Bundle however which doesn't come with a campaign, but does have online multiplayer which many would enjoy. I downloaded this last night and played it for around half an hour before I realized that I'm horrible at this game. It's a fun game though for someone looking for something a bit different to play. You can download it for free from the Microsoft Store.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2

While there's plenty of shooters out there for free right now, maybe you're looking for something a bit more old-school. If so, Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 might just be what you're looking for. It's a more modern take on a well-beloved classic. At least for now, you can add this one to your Steam library for free!

Ironsight

Did you enjoy Call of Duty: Warzone, but got tired of running into hackers? If so then let me introduce you to Ironsight. This free-to-play shooter is as close to a Call of Duty game as you'll get without it actually being Call of Duty. If you don't believe me, just look at gameplay footage of it yourself. Even better, download it and try it yourself! It's free so what do you have to lose?

Runescape

image.png

I'm a bit biased towards Runescape as it was the first PC game that I really ever got into when I was a teen. I remember that I used to always bug my sweet elderly neighbor to use her computer to play it and play it I did! I'm personally more of a fan of old-school Runescape, but for new players, the updated version may just be their cup of tea. Whether you're a fan from back in the day or someone new looking for a good free-to-play MMORPG, then Runescape is certainly worth checking out!

Gods Unchained/Hearthstone

I'm including both Gods Unchained and Hearthstone as the final spot on this list. I haven't been much into cards games myself lately, but Hearthstone is very addictive and I personally played it for close to three years. On the otherhand, Gods Unchained takes a lot of inspiration from Hearthstone but with less RNG and the fact that you actually own the cards that you get. You can even sell them for real money (ETH) if you'd like. Build a deck, make friends along the way, and try your hardest to get to the top!

It's been in my Steam library for years, but I'm pretty sure I actually paid for my copy long ago lol. I was planning on making a second list of more free games sometime in the next couple days, but since there's a ton of great free shooters out there already like Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and many others, I didn't want the list to be only shooters. This list I tried to showcase games that maybe aren't quiet as well known or that don't show up as often on other lists that I'd seen online.

Great suggestion though!

I've tried playing Runescape in the past but as a f2p. It was a little to slow for my enjoyment. I can see however why so many even till today keep playing it. It was tempting to just spend all day mining if it was not for those darn bots!

I don't think I ever ran into bots when I played, but the last time I was really into it was almost 15 years ago. I was also f2p. All I did was mine all day for most of the day and occasionally fight monsters. Working all day for little money, I think that prepared me for adult life lmao.

You're probably talking about the creatures and stuff in the game. Yeah, those suck when you first start out lol.

Pac-man is really a good throwback to childhood! Didn't know about Halo that is free but will definitely give it a try :)

Oh yeah. That's why I threw this list together. I wanted people to know about free games that you don't often find on other lists like this. I hope you enjoy :)
