Gonna have fun with this one

I recently bought my son one of the new Xbox Series S consoles and have been trying to find a game that we can play together. He is a huge Borderlands fan and have put in a lot of time in all of the previous Borderlands games, so I figured Tiny Tina's Wonderlands would be a fun game.

I never really got into the Borderlands games and have never completed any of them. I played all of them for a bit before I lost interest in them or something new had come out. But I heard that this game is the best out of the whole series. Wonderlands has gotten some really great reviews because like Elden Ring, it is a complete game at launch that isn't a money grab with micro transactions that so many new games have been doing.

The concept of this game is pretty cool. It is basically like playing Dungeons and Dragons around a table with a group of friends. Tiny Tina is the dungeon master and has a fantasy campaign that you and some others set out on. The voice acting in this game is top notch and pretty funny. Andy Samberg voices one of your team mates and I have always thought that dude was hilarious, so I am glad he is in this game.

The game starts out with you as a new adventurer and you are trying to help Queen Butt Stallion find some special sword and restore order in her kingdom. This first part kind of serves as an introduction into the game's mechanics and everything as you are trying to get the sword.

Once you get the sword and bring it to Butt Stallion, she is so happy that the sword is in her kingdom that she has a ceremony where you are going to become the newest knight in her kingdom. But then the Dragonlord shows up and has some other plans.

Instead of becoming a knight in Butt Stallion's kingdom, you get front row tickets to her beheading. This is the point where the direction of the game takes a full 180, because even though Tiny Tina is the dungeon master, she had no idea that the Dragonlord was going to come in and chop the head off of the beloved queen. Then, worst of all, he steals the sword.

So now, you are ready to set out and avenge Queen Butt Stallion and get the sword back from the Dragonlord and stop him from wreaking havoc on the world.

So far, I have been enjoying the game. I have only played for a few hours, but I am looking forward to devoting more time to this game. I have been playing off and on for a couple days. I mainly play for 30 mins to an hour at a time when I need a break from dying in Elden Ring. I have been stuck on the last boss in Elden Ring for a little over 10 hours now and this game has been a nice distraction when I need to get some of my sanity back.

The graphics are pretty cool in this game and I like how they mix up the different play styles from first person shooter to sort of a table top look when you are walking around on the map. It is a lot like you are moving your character around the map while playing DnD.

If you are a fan of the guns in Borderlands, this game has plenty of them. You also have a lot of different spells and abilities on short cool downs giving you plenty of ways to kill things.

So far, I have been enjoying Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and I think that my son and I will have a lot of fun playing this. He is a bit further along than I am, but I think once I finally beat Elden Ring, I will be able to catch up to his progress quite quickly.

If you are looking for a fun new game that doesn't require as much focus as Elden Ring, you should look into this one.

This looks really nice. I'm glad it's a standalone game so I don't have to play Borderlands 3 first. I love Borderlands and have 60+ hours in the first two games but for some reason Borderlands 3 doesn't appeal that much to me. I'm probably getting Horizon Zero Dawn after Elden Ring though so this will have to wait.

I played BL3 the most out of all of them, but never really got into it. This one is pretty fun, and I am hoping that there is a lot to do in it. The game seems kind of short from what I have read, but if it is like the other BL games, you can keep playing it over and over and it just gets harder, but the loot gets better.

Have fun with Horizon. That game is amazing. I need to finish the second one, but it has been so long.

This Borderlands spin-off is very good, I have seen several videos on youtube, at first I thought it was a different game, I did not think it would be of the same saga, plus it changes a lot the style of the game, being now very fantasy.

Ya, a lot of the guns have a pretty cool fantasy element to them. I prefer these more fantasy style games over the normal shooter style.

My sister is such a big fan of the Borderlands series and I always used to play that game with her. However we completed all of them so this might become an options for us as well because she definitely will love it 🙂
