Hoy toca una de esos post diferentes que siempre me gusta escribir cada tanto para comentarles algun gadget util que encuentro merodeando por la web, no he probado demasiados que tengan como tematica mejorar la experiencia de los gamers pero el concepto de Opera GX, una version del navegador de Opera con diferentes herramientas utiles para Gamers ha llamado mi atencion desde que vi su lanzamiento hace algunos años, no lo habia probado hasta ahora porque hace muy poco es que tengo una pc decente para probar juegos asi que ahora si puedo disfrutarlo justo como queria, en mi rutina diaria ya estoy mas que acostumbrado a usar Firefox y tengo bastante cercania con este explorador por lo que se hasta donde puede llegar y lo comodo que me siento con el.

Por lo que en esta ultima semana estuve probando de a ratos, personalizando mi experiencia y en general viendo hasta donde podia llegar usando Opera GX y debo decir que me ha dejado sorprendido lo que se puede hacer con el y el nivel de personalizacion que te deja tener superando con creces todos los exploradores que he visto, no soy un tipo demasiado tecnologico para decir cual de todos los exploradores webs es el mejor por lo que esta reseña ira acompañada de esa pizca de opinion sobre mis gustos personales y mi sensacion con este explorador, quien sabe quiza al final del post te anime a descargarlo y probarlo aunque sea por un rato.

¿Que ofrece Opera GX que puede interesarte?

La palabra clave aca sin duda es personalizacion, desde los primeros menus sus desarrolladores entendieron que su caracteristica primordial debia ser darle a los gamers el control sobre el diseño y las herramientas que querian desplegar, desde el comienzo nos explica varias funciones como el de limitar la cantidad de memoria RAM a consumir por el navegador u otra que me encanta que es la barra lateral en donde podremos poner accesos directos siempre a la mano de servicios como Discord, Telegram o Whatsapp, este punto en particular me gusto bastante porque no necesitas una nueva ventana o incluso la app de escritorio de discord para tenerlo a la mano.

Creo que es cuando note esa opcion que me empezo a agradar mas este explorador, soy mas cercano al refran de "si no esta roto no lo arregles" y pensaba que Firefox iba a ser mi opcion por mucho mucho tiempo pero aun Opera GX me preparada mas sorpresas en el camino, como ya sabran desde que tengo la pc nueva estoy jugando regularmente todo tipo de videojuegos y una de las cosas super importantes para esto es la memoria RAM que los exploradores como Chrome son tan famosos por consumir grandes cantidades de esta, queria probar el limitador de RAM integrado en Opera GX asi que abri un par de ventanas e inicie una partida de Fortnite para ver si notaba alguna diferencia, normalmente cuando tengo ventanas abiertas en Firefox tiendo a teener un poco de LAG y siendo honesto no se si este limitador funcione del todo por como fue mi experiencia.

Nota: Despues pude probar un poco mas a fondo esta herramienta y si optimizaba mis juegos pero tan solo un poco a comparacion con Mozilla.

Diseño e Interfaz

Opera GX es muy vistoso desde el primer momento que instalas su paquete, como ya mencione primero te manda a hacer una serie de pasos para determinar algunos ajustes basicos pero luego estaras por tu cuenta pudiendo modificar una infinidad de otras cosas, he probado agregando borradores a mi menu principal, nuevas direcciones a mi pagina de feed, motores de busqueda que me interesa tener y un gestor de contraseñas, Opera GX va incluso mas alla y propone estos setups para que, por ejemplo, estas comodo con alguna interfaz de otros exploradores como Chrome o Firefox puedas tener configuraciones casi identicas en diseño y preferencias, un punto extra para retener a ese usuario y que su cambio no sea del todo brusco.

Ver la interfaz principal de Opera GX me hizo tener escalofrios, se ve increible cada una de las ventanas que abro y en general se respira un aire e modernidad que solo he encontrado aqui, ese ambiente gamer lleno de luces y bordes de colores hace que se vea genial y al mismo tiempo me hace querer personalizar todo lo que pueda, desde si quiero (o no) ver la barra de tareas y marcadores hasta los colores primarios del explorador, incluso si lo deseo puedo optimizar mucho mas el explorador habilitando o deshabilitando las animaciones (que por cierto Opera GX tiene unas animaciones increibles) para ahorrar incluso mas memoria. Una funcion que solo he visto en este explorador.

Controla todo

La barra lateral y las herramientas que tiene es una de las cosas que quisiera resaltar, ademas de que tiene varias aplicaciones de mensajeria a la mano tiene un par de herramientas que nos ayudaran a gestionar nuestras ventanas en el navegador de forma mas efectiva, la funcion de GX Control es una sala de control en donde podremos ver cuanta memoria estan consumiendo las ventanas que tenemos abiertas ademas de tambien bajar el consumo en automatico cuando estamos jugando, el limitador de RAM es lo mas util en cuanto a ahorro de memoria y si queremos que alguna ventana en especifico nos consuma el minimo necesario para que funcione adecuadamente.

¿ya mencione el tema de la personalizacion? porque incluso despues de un par de dias sigo impresionado con la cantidad de formas en las que podemos hacer este navegador un poco mas nuestro estilo, desde las clasicas luces RGB en cada lado del navegador como una cantidad ENORME de plugins que podemos agregar con tan solo un par de clicks, tambien la accesibilidad en Opera GX esta al dia ya que a pesar de que todas estas opciones pueden parecer agobiantes pero la verdad es que tenemos todo a tan solo un par de clicks de distancia y los menus hacen que todo destaque y sea visible para el usuario.

Hablemos de rendimientos en paginas que utilizo en mi dia a dia, porque de que me sirve tener todas estas mejoras si no puedo ingresar a las paginas que uso diariamete, contando con que no tengo aca la misma cache que en mozilla puedo decir que la velocidad del explorador es aceptable, no es del otro mundo y me atreveria a decir que mozilla es mas rapido pero creo que con las herramientas que ofrece Opera GX adelante por muy poco a firefox.

Y eso ha sido un poco de lo que opino sobre este explorador, por supuesto en una semana no puedo abarcar todo lo que tiene y mi experiencia final con el, pero sin duda estare usandolo de vez en cuando para seguir probando todo lo que tiene para ofrecer, estuve viendo algunos analisis y lo ponen como una de las opciones a futuro ara conquistar el mercado de los exploradores y yo creo que tiene un producto para hacerlo, habra que esperar para esto pero en fin, lo has probado? que opinion tienes sobre Opera GX?

Today is one of those different posts that I always like to write every now and then to tell you about some useful gadget that I find lurking around the web, I have not tried too many that have as a theme to improve the experience of gamers but the concept of Opera GX, a version of the Opera browser with different useful tools for Gamers has caught my attention since I saw its release a few years ago, I had not tried it until now because I just recently got a decent pc to test games so now I can enjoy it just as I wanted, in my daily routine I am more than used to use Firefox and I have enough closeness with this browser so I know how far it can go and how comfortable I feel with it.

So in this last week I've been trying it out, customizing my experience and in general seeing how far I could go using Opera GX and I must say that I've been amazed at what you can do with it and the level of customization it allows you to have, surpassing by far all the browsers I've seen, I''m not a guy too technological to say which of all web browsers is the best so this review will be accompanied by that bit of opinion about my personal tastes and my feeling with this browser, who knows maybe at the end of the post will encourage you to download it and try it even for a while.

What does Opera GX offer that might interest you?

Key word here is undoubtedly customization, from the first menus its developers understood that its main feature should be to give gamers control over the design and the tools they want to deploy, From the beginning it explains several functions such as limiting the amount of RAM memory to be consumed by the browser or another that I love that is the sidebar where we can put shortcuts always at hand for services like Discord, Telegram or Whatsapp, this point in particular I liked a lot because you do not need a new window or even the discord desktop app to have it at hand.

I think it's when I noticed that option that I started to like this browser more, I'm closer to the saying "if it's not broken don't fix it " and I thought Firefox was going to be my choice for a long time but even Opera GX prepared me more surprises on the way, as you know since I got the new pc I'm regularly playing all kinds of video games and one of the super important things for this is the RAM memory that browsers like Chrome are so famous for consuming large amounts of it, I wanted to test the RAM limiter built into Opera GX so I opened a couple of windows and started a game of Fortnite to see if I noticed any difference, normally when I have windows open in Firefox I tend to get a bit of LAG and to be honest I don't know if this limiter works at all because of how my experience was.

Note: Later I was able to test this tool a little more thoroughly and it did optimize my games but only a little bit compared to Mozilla.

Design and Interface

Opera GX is very attractive from the first moment you install its package, as I mentioned it first sends you through a series of steps to determine some basic settings but then you are on your own and can modify a lot of other things, I have tried adding drafts to my main menu, new addresses to my feed page, search engines that I am interested in, Opera GX goes even further and proposes these setups so that, for example, if you are comfortable with some interface of other browsers like Chrome or Firefox you can have almost identical configurations in design and preferences, an extra point to retain that user and that their change is not completely abrupt.

Seeing the main interface of Opera GX made me have chills, it looks amazing each of the windows that I open and in general there is an air of modernity that I have only found here, that gamer environment full of lights and colored borders makes it look great and at the same time makes me want to customize everything I can, from whether I want (or not) to see the taskbar and bookmarks to the primary colors of the browser, even if I want I can optimize much more the browser by enabling or disabling the animations (which by the way Opera GX has some incredible animations) to save even more memory. A feature I've only seen in this browser.

Control everything

The sidebar and the tools it has is one of the things I would like to highlight, besides having several messaging applications at hand has a couple of tools that will help us manage our windows in the browser more effectively, the function of GX Control is a control room where we can see how much memory are consuming the windows we have open in addition to also lower consumption in automatic when we are playing, the RAM limiter is the most useful in terms of memory saving and if we want any specific window we consume the minimum necessary for it to function properly.

Did I already mentioned the customization issue? cause even after a couple of days I'm still impressed with the amount of ways we can make this browser a little more our style, from the classic RGB lights on each side of the browser to a HUGE amount of plugins we can add with just a couple of clicks, also the accessibility in Opera GX is up to date because even though all these options may seem overwhelming but the truth is that we have everything just a couple of clicks away and the menus make everything stand out and visible to the user.

Let's talk about performance in pages that I use in my day to day, because what good is having all these improvements if I can't access the pages I use daily, considering that I don't have here the same cache as in mozilla I can say that the speed of the browser is acceptable, it is not the other world and I would dare to say that mozilla is faster but I think that with the tools that Opera GX offers, it's a little bit ahead of firefox.

And that has been a little of what I think about this browser, of course in a week I can not cover everything it has and my final experience with it, but certainly I will be using it from time to time to continue testing everything it has to offer, I was watching some reviews and put it as one of the future options to conquer the browser market and I think it has a product to do so, we will have to wait for this but anyway, have you tried it? what do you think about Opera GX?
