Did you ever feel like your desktop is boring? Have you ever wanted to enhance it somehow? Well guess what, I went through that too, but I have found the right solution for us, it's called Wallpaper Engine.

Wallpaper Engine is a piece of software that allows you to use live wallpapers on your PC, it supports different kinds of animations (2D animations / 3D animations), videos or even websites.

Some wallpapers support even music/sounds, you can mute them in the Wallpaper's settings if you do not want to hear them.

If you record videos or livestream and sometimes you show your screen to your audience, this will definitely look 100x better then a plain stock wallpaper.

This is the current live wallpaper that I rock on my main monitor.

There are also interactive wallpapers where you can move things, or they react to music, let me show you two examples.

You can move the sheep around, you can spawn more, or throw them in the lake, also they make sounds when you click them (unfortunately it's a gif, you won't hear the sounds).

In the 2nd example you can see how the light moves with the mouse and shows the circuits under it.

You can pick your wallpaper from thousands of already posted ones by taking a loot at the Wallpaper Engine's Steam Workshop page here.
Or you could just search of Wallpaper Engine tops and pick from there, here is an example of that type of videos.

After reading this you clearly have some questions, let me guess some of them and answer them below.

Q: Is Wallpaper Engine free?
A: No, Wallpaper Engine is not free, you can get it for 3.99€ on Steam.

Q: Does Wallpaper Engine slow down your PC?
A: Not really, it's low on resources, in my case it uses ~100mb of RAM, under 3% CPU and about 5-8% GPU, but my PC is pretty weak (Ryzen 5 2600x - 1060 6GB - 16GB DDR4)

Q: Does Wallpaper Engine affect my gaming experience?
A: Wallpaper Engine has an option that can pause the live wallpaper while other apps are fullscreen, this way the app will not use any resources so you won't be affected.

Q: Does Wallpaper Engine support multiple monitors?
A: Yes, it does, I currently run a 2x monitor setup, one is landscape one is portrait. You can use as many monitors as you want. After 3 monitors it's pretty hard to find different wallpapers that match with one another.

Q: I have a weird resolution, does Wallpaper Engine support it?
A: Wallpaper Engine supports plenty of resolutions/ratios, here are the supported ones below, and if your resolution isn't there, you can take a close resolution and play with the settings to make it fit.

Q: Are there "enough" wallpapers?
A: Wallpaper Engine supports thousands of wallpapers so far, you can find them in Steam Workshop, also you can create your own.

This was all for this post, if you are getting Wallpaper Engine share the view you are rocking on your monitor down below. Also if you have any questions related to Wallpaper Engine feel free to ask them, I'll do my best to answer them.

Until next time, I was Ady and I thank you for stopping by!
