Cautious Optimism and Grave Concerns as Intel Integrates Cybereason into Chips
(Edited)
Intel and Cybereason just announced that they are working to integrate Cybereason to collect data from hardware to software levels, with the goal of protecting users from ransomware.
This is an opportunity for better cybersecurity, but also could be a catastrophic undermining of trust and an avenue for devastating external manipulation.
In today’s video I will be discussing the potential risks, benefits, and Intel’s previous attempts to embed 3rd party anti-malware software into its products.
If Intel has done its due-diligence, this marriage could be amazing. If not, it will likely be a strategic disaster in the making, greater than all previous Intel product security issues!
