Los Romanos en España📚🌍 /The Romans in Spain 🕵️‍♂️

Hello friends! Some time ago I visited a city in Spain called Badajoz, known for its high Roman influence since the beginning of the 3rd century. I think this post is important to know a little about the development of one of the most powerful civilizations of all time in Hispania. ! In ancient times there was a rivalry between Rome and Carthage and at the end of the Punic War the Romans managed to seize the territory that we now know as Spain.🧔💂‍♀️💂‍♂️

Sobre el museo🕵️‍♂️📚/about the museum🙇‍♂️🏛

Before entering the Archaeological Museum of Badajoz, I was struck by its beautiful architecture and this building also has a story to tell us. It is a Muslim fortification built on the highest point of the city of Badajoz, it was built in the 17th century. XVI, however in 1867 it is used as a museum to exhibit many historical pieces dating from the prehistoric age to the occupation of the territory by the Romans. I think the most impressive and oldest pieces in the museum are "Estelas" with cave designs of the prehistoric age!🦕🧔

Ocupacion Romana🕵️‍♂️📚/Roman occupation🙇‍♂️

Spain was occupied by the Romans for more than 7 centuries, a very long period that gave rise to several important events in the history of our humanity, here were born: politicians, historians, scientists, rulers who contributed to our society being highly organized, the Romans were one of the first to impose laws on the people, they were also the first to create coins as a method of payment, obviously they were inspired by the Greeks.🕵️‍♂️🏛🤔

Romanization/ Romanizacion🧠🌍

Of course the Romans not only ruled Spain, among the countries they occupied we highlight: (Portugal, Zahara, Morocco among others), the Romans had a particularity and that is that in each governed territory they went through a process called: Romanization and consisted and implement their customs, economy, culture, was such a great contribution that to this day his legacy remains in our society.📚🕵️‍♂️

I think that one of the most important impacts on society thanks to the Romans was the implementation of several languages, among them we could highlight Latin, normally when a territory went through the "Romanization" phase the population was not forced to learn Latin However, this language symbolized power and knowledge, therefore if someone wanted to address a public institution or a Roman with power, they should do so in Latin.😮🤯🕵️‍♂️

very advanced civilization/ Civilizacion muy avanzada🧠🌍

Few know but it was only thanks to Latin and the contribution of the Romans in European territories that many languages and dialects were born, here we can understand why Spanish and Portuguese are similar and it is that both were born thanks to Latin, a language that does not exist is : Mozarabs who were Hispanic-Romans who inhabited the Muslim territory in the Iberian peninsula.📚🕵️‍♂️

The Hispanic territory and its politics were changing for more than 700 years, the first thing the Romans did was divide the peninsula into two "provinces: Tarragona, Cordoba", Augustus became the first Roman emperor to rule between 27 BC to 14 AD and therefore would be in charge of reorganizing the peninsula. The organization imposed by Augusto consisted of: (Tarraconensis, Lusitania and Betica). Literally this organization in the province was maintained until the fall of the Roman power.🌏🌎

Hispania had many important cities for the time, however, due to their location, those that were located in the eastern zone had greater importance for the empire! I think it was more because of the geographical position. If we wanted to estimate the population of any of these important cities then we could make an estimate based on the Tarraco necropolis, it is believed that more than 75 thousand people inhabited this region!🧠🌍🧔

roman intelligence/ Inteligencia Romana🧠🌍

I think the Romans followed the strategy that Russia applies to Ukraine today... At that time they used the Carthage War as a pretext simply to expand their territories and make the nation richer since many of the cities integrated into the peninsula all They were well positioned and had many natural resources.📚🕵️‍♂️

Mineria en hispania🕵️‍♂️📚/Mining in hispania🙇‍♂️

Mining in Spain was very famous and an economic activity that was very well used by the Romans. If we watch a movie from the Roman era, we see that many slaves had to go to work in the mines as a punishment, and it was a very lucrative business that would later happen. Open for privileged families, that is, private mining also existed. It is estimated that this business generated a profit of more than 10 million denarii.👸🤴

Estelas🕵️‍♂️📚/Stelae (monument)🙇‍♂️

The stelae are "monuments" that carry a monolithic inscription that had various types of meanings, they normally represented some form of primitive communication, they date from the Paleolithic and as you can see this was long before the Roman occupation of Spain, it may symbolize some animal , some warrior, armor, combat, some deity.🤔🌍🧠

Avance Romano en España🕵️‍♂️📚/Roman advance in Spain🙇‍♂️🤯

It is difficult to choose which were one of the most important contributions of the Romans to society and the economy of Hispania and in my opinion something that stood out to the Romans was the construction of "roads" that allowed many areas to be connected, for example, there were roads that They arrived in the south of the Algarve in Portugal and whose destination was the extreme of Spain, therefore they are hundreds of kilometers away and this helped the commercialization of different types of products, including fish.🚙🚙

Cuan avanzado eran, cuanto retrocedimos? Increíble no?

¡Me encanta!
