Short-horned grasshopper
Amidst the lush, vibrant greenery and whispering softly, a short-horned grasshopper lounged on a grass stalk. Its long, slender body was covered in a brown hue that seemed to blend seamlessly with nature. This coloration wasn't merely a way to enhance its appearance; it was also a means of protection. It easily camouflaged itself, resembling a long-fallen leaf.
The grasshopper was in no hurry, it sat there silently, enjoying the world around it. I'm sure that behind its stillness lies a journey we'll never know. It had hopped from one place to the next under the hot sun. Or perhaps it had been drenched by heavy rain. Yet, it remained steadfast, never complaining. The grass stalk it was perched on wasn't just a resting place, but a silent witness to its journey.
From what I could see, this grasshopper's journey wasn't smooth. Look, one of its hind legs is missing. It can no longer jump far because its springboard is no longer intact. I've been finding insects in this condition a lot lately. It's pitiful, of course. But there's not much I can do about it, except hope no predators attack them again.
