lychee giant stink bug | Tessaratoma papillosa

Hello everyone, good afternoon wherever you are, how are you this afternoon? Hope you are fine wherever you are.

I"m back here again and on this occasion I want to show you some beautiful shots of the lychee giant stink bug. In Latin, this insect is known as Tessaratoma papillosa which comes from the Tessaratomidae family. These insects are the main pests of lychee trees, they will attack lychee plants by eating all the shoots, buds, flower stalks and even attack the fruit at the same time. They will also eat the sap by piercing the plant using a needle-like mouth.

What I found was not on lychee trees but on longan trees. The insect was resting on one of the tree branches. The color it has is very beautiful, its body is white decorated with black spots with character. While the back is brown, the shield design is very beautiful, similar to a brown jacket with black buttons. The legs, eyes and antennae are black.

Behind her beauty there is an extraordinary smell, the smell makes you dizzy. But don't worry, he only emits this smell when he feels threatened. Apart from that, there is also a very loud voice, this loud voice is a song for them to attract the attention of the opposite sex. But sometimes the loud sound is also used as a warning to predators.
